Jada Pinkett Smith (aka Will Smith's wife) is part of what she calls a "hardcore" band. They call themselves...wait for it...Wicked Wisdom (http://www.wickedwisdom.net).

Bash them all you want, but I saw plenty of interviews with bands on Ozzfest saying they were great people and really nice. When Will and Jada are on stage screaming "Bury you fucking dead!", that's fine with me.

uhhh it's more than half bad. it's very bad. i heard a song on the radio, and the only reason they played it was so they could make fun of it before & after it was on. terrrribllleeee

and also, that's not fine with me. that's like slayer singing about butterflies.

annnnd, i know a bunch of great/really nice people who couldn't make a decent song to save their lives.

It sounds kind of like all the crappy local hardcore bands around here... Even the production seems really bad on the songs.

But hey, I wouldn't have a problem with the band if they weren't being pushed because it had famous members in it... If they work hard and somehow get up to the top, that's fine with me.

why does it matter? it makes her happy to play music so let her do it.
if you're talking how its shitty its as generic as everything else is.

Yea, they were on ozzfest. Mat Bruso, their vocalist, said that he was at six flags or something one time and Will and Jada came up and were like, "Oh, Matt we just love your band." Etc. etc. Then they went on about how Tom Cruise loves them too, which is understandable because of cover your tracks. Anyway, they rode rollercoasters and stuff together and when Jada's band got onto ozzfest, Will and Jada would make frequent appearances around with BYD. Even on stage.

Anyway, there's a video floating around somewhere of that. If any of you find it, seriously let me know. I'd love it.

Jada Pinkett Smith in a hardcore band is by a wide margin the most suprising/unlikely thing I've heard ever.

Why is it that celebrities think that they can keep infiltrating the music scene. And they'll get more sponsors and tour dates than 90% of indies out there just because of Jada.

It could be worse, imagine being the guys in the band - "Yea, I'm in a band...uuh, yea, I play bass for Jada Pinkett-Smith's hardcore band" - lol

Don't you remember DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince? That shit was HUGE. From allmusic.com:
Propelled by the smash "Parents Just Don't Understand," DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince broke into the mainstream a year later with He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper, one of the first hip-hop LPs to achieve double-platinum status.
One of the first double-LP sets in rap history (thanks to a number of tracks showcasing Jeff's turntable artistry), it also became one of the genre's biggest sellers up to that point, moving more than 2.5 million copies after the comic video for "Parents Just Don't Understand" became a runaway hit on MTV. A playful riff on the generation gap, "Parents Just Don't Understand" hit number 12 on the singles charts, went gold, and won the first-ever rap Grammy; the duo toured extensively behind it, aided in their dealings with concert promoters by their non-threatening image.
Big Willy Style hit #8 on billboard, Willenium hit #5, Born to Reign hit #13, and his latest peaked at #6 on Billboard, and he's received two Grammys in addition to two he got with DJ Jazzy Jeff. He's had a damned good career musically.
