Guitar Straps

so i was wondering what kind of strap do you guys use?

i was in the shitter, and thinking... last november i bought a planet wave straplock, because i wanted to learn how to do tricks with my guitar. moving forward, a guy at guitar center told me that he has gone through like 5 planet wave straplocks. he suggested the dunlop straplok system.

its a lot of work...but its well worth it, if you dont wanna have to worry about your guitar flying off. you can get them for less than 20 bucks.

yea this post is mainly, because i dont want anyone to break their guitar by doing tricks with the planet wave straplock, i would've cried if it had happen to me.

I have a straplock on my bass but I just use a standard leather strap for my guitars.

Not sure on brands.

yea this is the only way to roll. If you don't know what these straps are definetly check them out. Most of your favorite bands probably use them so you've definetly seen them.

also, dunlop strap locks with Ernie Ball Straps are good. Ernie Ball straps are super cheap but great. Unfortuneately you can't get them at guitar center usually. Order one on Ebay. They're probably the longest straps you can buy.

I've tried the fender strap locks, dunlop straplocks, and planet waves strap locks. They all suck. I'm getting two dimarzio cliploks next week. :D

Dimarzio Cliplocks. The only way to get it done. Just watch the one on the body end of the guitar (right, if you're playing righty), as they can possibly scratch up your guitar, might wanna wrap that end in ducttape or something soft.

Just some metal strap locks, and a big thick leather strap.

i actually laughed outloud at that. i had a mental image of someone's bass flying across the room. sorry. its not funny, and i cry when people purposely break their instruments...but something about that image made me laugh alittle.

i have an ernie ball strap with some kind of straplocks on. i don't remember what brand they were, but it was around $25 for it.

That happened to me too. My guitar strap is a piece of shit, I need a new one. Of course, my input is really messed up so I have to get it welded back into place.

i use a pink dickies strap and plan on getting a strap lock because i hate the squeaking sound it makes on my bass.
