Your favorite band is Mae, are you allowed to talk on this matter (cheese/lyrics)? I mean, as much as I like/d Mae, their latest album could be a Disney soundtrack. I fail to understand where you think you should be an authority on any of this, didn't you spend 1/2 the year promoting Just Surrender in your signature? Come on, grow up. And while we're on this subject matter, I'm gonna just ruin it for you and tell you with both The Spill Canvas and Lydia, the songs you think are about girls and love. Aren't. I'm dead fucking serious too.

The everglow is a concept album about a charcter and the events he goes through.
and thats outragous.

The lyrics on one fell swoop are so sickeningly corny. I mean c'mon, the tide was musical bliss and is lyricly impecable, but name any song on OFS and will show you what I mean.

I tend to enjoy these type of lyrics ( this day and age ) but it's getting lame and redundant now.

I know it's just your opinon....but yours carries more weight, and saying that OFS is album of the year is just ridiculous. ( kicking a dead horse I know )

If all you listen for is a good hook, then it explains why you don't like some of the music/bands I do. We won't ever agree on anything in that case, because I listen to a lot of music with no discernible chorus, or predictable formula.

Im not asking you to argue with slade anymore, but i got to say you got my interest when you discuss the background and meanings behind TSC's lyrics on One Fell Swoop. Care to elaborate on your first comment: Not all the songs we think are about girls/love are actually about that.

And lyrics can be as much personal opinon as your favorite band. At 18, gut retching songs about girls and failed relationships are still relevant to me. When i am 30 i have no idea if i will feel the same way.

maybe it's your situation right now.......Alien Ant Farm? What the hell? .. haha. Where do people hear that at all? That's like telling me Blink182 sounds like Elvis.

As for your only other "point" that had a shread of hope: I love Mae's Destination:Meautiful, but you can't call them original when they obviously are jocking Jimmy Eat World for all they can.

I love Mae, but D:B was basically just a more polished Jimmy Eat World record with more saccharine vocals. And Lydia's lyrics are incredible. They are not in the least cheesy. Lydia are story tellers (A Story For Supper is an amazing song lyrically). As for TSC, there are some cringe-worthy moments on that album, but still it is lyrically very strong. I like catchy music, but most of the time its disposable and gets old way too fast. That's all I have to say.
