Hi guys, I'm new and I would appreciate your opinion on a certain issue.
My friend and I are musically-intuitive people, and constantly get into debates. He is mainly an alternative rocker, while I tend to stick to classic rock.

Now, I can totally understand my friend not liking a certain band. But he pretty much went as far to call the Rolling Stones (in their prime years) "over-rated," "nothing special," and regarding their vocals, lyrics, and compositions, "awful." A rather harsh judgment for one of rock's legends. He called Yellowcard more creative than they ever were, which comes as a shock to me.

I appreciate Yellowcard (more than most people), but I cannot label them as a unique or a breakthrough, trendsetting band.

I really need your opinions on the issue. Where does my friend's credibilty begin? End? Does it even exist? Can you contradict or support him? Thanks ppl.

Are you honestly asking this question? And you've included "musically-intuitive" as a classification for both you and your friend?

I can't argue my own opinion or come up with my own points, so I have to ask strangers online. Not very 'musically-intuitive' if you ask me.

What exactly is musically-intuitive, by the way???

Thinking you know shit about music.

well, if your friend is saying that yellowcard is a better band than the rolling stones, he's clearly an idiot.

But they have an asian playing a violin, which would be pretty stereotypical and lame, but it's electric so that makes it cool and they have a black drummer. Now if you were musically intuitive like I am, then you would realize that that's originality at its finest.

Thinking you know shit about music.
Haha yeah, I got that.
But the whole phrase is just dumb. Intuition is just the wrong word.

What did you expect from a thread like this?

i just want my facts straight. i just want to know if I'm the only one out there that disagrees with him. "musially-intuitive" is a poor choice of words.

I like music. Its not a contest. Thats all it means.:-|

I just want popular opinion.

You want a popular opinion? Are you looking for an argument or a new favorite band?

True.
I guess I just have too much faith in the overall intelligence of humanity.

He just has a greater appreciation for Yellowcards genre or he's just being ignorant to the fact that the Stones are one of the most prolific bands of all time!
My choice is the Rolling Stones, and i do enjoy some yellowcard, but They defined the sound of old school Rock N roll for me
