I've posted a total of TWO TIMES (http://www.absolutepunk.net/search.php?searchid=391027) on this band. The 'Tate' hype machine is busy working on hyping Lydia, which I've posted about more than twice as much about than CIWWAF (http://www.absolutepunk.net/search.php?searchid=391029); in just the past 2 days.

As for being unsigned, I've talked to people at labels that have thought about signing the band, and I know for a fact they're unsigned, as of right now; because I know interested labels.

however, if you take into account that they have only been together as a band for about six months [since near the end of january [but at that point it was only shaant and someone else, and then they added a couple more people, and then had a slight lineup change. so i would say six months is a good estimate], they are really very good

If Max Bemis wrote a song for Kelly Clarkson, I'd complain quite loudly. But Max writes/helps bands who write their own songs (Hot Rod Circuit), and wouldn't write just for a pretty face. That's the difference.

I'm a very good friend of the band and I decided to come on here and clear up a few things...

She's not just a pretty face. She is an excellent singer. Yes I read the whole thread and I think your argument is real cheap. If you are saying you dont like her because she doesnt write her own songs you are not only partially wrong because she did cowrite half of her songs including 'behind these hazel eyes' and breakaway, but also you are not understanding that not all good music has to be written by the artist themself. Let's look at (though not exactly my favorite); country music. Barely anyone writes their own songs these days in mainstream country music, yet its still arguably the biggest branch of the music industry. Talent musicians don't always have to be guitarists or drummers, in this case her voice is her instrument. Whether you agree or not its spectacular (for further proof listen to breakaway acoustic). Just accept the fact that she can sing; and probably better than 90% of the other popstars who are huge at the moment.

I can clear up everything about the ohio show, I helped set it up. I put up posters in record stores and university, passed flyers, etc and I had about 30 people who said they were going for sure and I anticipated a good turnout since Rookie played there before and I promoted it. Unfortunately, it was the 4th of July weekend and there were various activities, and a local bands big CD release show at Jillians that resulted in a poor turnout. Not to mention a weak scene in this area. Poor turnouts happen, and when they do there is not a lot you can do about it.

After the local band Ten Count Fall (http://www.myspace.com/tencountfall) (who can bring big shows by themselves, and check them out, they are in Atlanta recording their first CD) played, their crowd left so basically nobody was left. I talked to David Melillo and after waiting for people to show, we all decided it would be best to cancel the show, and Rookie said anyone who could make it to the show the following day would get in free. Sorry the person working at the venue didn't give you a refund... you had to bitch at him I guess to get one. I should have bitched about wanting a refund for their poor PA system and not being able to get tape to fix the busted mic stands. First and last show I'll ever book there.

And for the record CIWWAF are all nice guys, we hanged out till almost midnight. I'm also a fan of all 3 of those bands that were on that tour.
