Peter annoys me. I wish he wasn't so impressionable. I hope they actually do something good with his character and don't just give him the role they always do. And there are quite a few powers he never even knew he had. I hope they bring him back with all of them and expose that a little.

I don't think Peter is going to be as impressionable as he was in previous seasons especially since he looked up to his brother who is now the enemy. So I think we're going to finally see a shift in Peter and find out how he becomes such a badass that we see in Future Peter

The previews look pretty cool...and they make me feel even more strongly towards the idea that this show is an adaptation of xmen. I don't know why, just the whole idea of rounding everyone up, having a war between the people with abilities and the rest of the world.

They really need to step up this season and hopefully bring back the awesome to some of the characters. I didn't mind season 1 Suresh. Suresh was ridiculously annoying last season. Sylar should be darker like he was in season 1. Hiro needs to stop being a 10 year old. Ali Larter needs to die and not come back as a different character. And Nathan can be a fucking awesome if they use him as effectively as they did in Season 1. If they could manage to take care of those core problems in the show it could really pick up again

Remember how we all had faith Volume 3 would return to the glory and it was mostly shitty and worse than Season 2? I won't have high hopes for this volume, if anything I'll have low expectations and hope that I'm impressed.

I loved S1 and where S2 was getting to right before the strike, after that it all went downhill.

"ACAPD" wasn't a blockbuster episode by any means, but damn it was good. It's very clear that they're trying to bring the "feel" of Season 1 back, at least a little. I'm talking minor production details, really. The handheld cameras, the long lenses. Stuff like that. Things that made Season 1 have a "real world" feel to it despite being about time travellers and guys who can fly.

Volume 4 is going to be great if they downplay all the various arcs. Simplify it to 3 or 4 tops, and even that may be a bit much. Avoid the rabbit trails and we could see a long awaited fresh face for the franchise. If there are new characters to introduce, keep them MINOR. Honestly, I don't even want too much development for the Hunter. I'd love for them to keep him as just the mysterious adversary.

For those who don't know who he is, Beeman is one of the executive producers/directors on the show, and every week immediately after a new episode airs, he updates his blog with a HUGE post detailing practically everything regarding the production of the episode. It's a very in-depth behind the scenes view of everything, from why and how particular scenes were shot to the creative motivations behind the actors and director. Each post is also concluded with a slew of fun on-set photos. Definitely check it out. It's very cool to know that someone as ridiculously busy as he is takes that much time to personally give a little something extra to the fans.

I remember the night I watched Sylar kill Isaac way back in Season 1 and thinking to myself what a brilliant move it was taking him away from the series, that having a precog around all the time would get boring, and they've proven me right.

They haven't even kept the formula the same these days. Back when it was Isaac, his precognitions meant something. They were legitimate foreshadowing tools that kept you on the edge of your seat because "Oh shit, what the hell is that guy on fire all about?!?" and "Dammit that's a huge mushroom cloud!" and most of them were events that the characters were earnestly working to stop.

Now, it's either people foreseeing the absolute dumbest shit (OMG Claire and Matt are gonna look at a picture together!) or it's things that happen no matter what, dumbing down the actual event because we knew it was going to happen anyway (HRG's death).

If they insist on keeping the precog idea in the series, I hope they take it back to the way it was originally used: sparingly and cataclysmically.

Some thought he simply gave himself a brand new ability of flight alone. Others thought he regained his original empathic ability and that it was Nathan's flight he absorbed. I'm drawn towards the latter, and the fact that he specifically touched people's skin in "ACAPD" meant, to me, that his ability has evolved to resemble more of his father's ability, which, when you think of it, is kind of an improvement over simply absorbing abilities uncontrollably. Yeah, it's a bit of a challenge to go out of your way to touch someone to get their ability, but I like the thought of him having control over which abilities he gets. This prevents the "overload" he seemed to have at the end of Season 1. Anyways, that's my two cents.

I agree with you, the ablity has some advantages and disadvantages, but overall it's a step up, although I don't think he'd aquire many abilities that he wouldn't be able to handle.

I'm glad they sort of changed it. he was becoming way too powerful, but it will be kind of lame if they have to keep on taking away both sylar and peters powers every couple seasons and make them start from scratch

On the Peter note. I really think he can only hold 1 power at a time. He gets Mohinder (strength), muffs that dude up. Touches Tracy (ice) and gets his ass kicked by said dude. He touches the wall, and it blows open. Whilst hanging on for dear life I think to myself "Why wouldn't he just fly out there and superman the plane back down with his strength." (totally wouldn't put it past the writers.) But what was the point of him finding it so necessary to hang on when/if he could fly and be good. I dunno just thinking out loud.
