Appreciate.
I'm checking out the live CDs that came with The Red Piano DVD and he is so good.
Why is there so little love out there for him these days? One of the legends.
I've always liked "Original Sin".

He's coming to Indy with Billy Joel - I'm seriously considering going, but it depends on if I can get Eagles tickets.

He came to Pullman last year, but I wasn't able to go. My parents enjoyed his show though.

You have good taste! It's good to see someone post back to back in Billy Joel/Tom Waits/Elton John/Bruce Springsteen threads.

Thanks! From what I've seen so do you. Actually thought about posting this in that "Best Beatles Covers" thread:

Yeah he's done quite a few Beatles covers that are all really good. I'm lucky enough to have this on vinyl (Lennon's last public performance):

Elton John helping Eminem fight drug abuse and addiction.

Love Elton. Not as much as Billy Joel, but I don't love anyone as much as Billy Joel. Elton's string of albums from Elton John through Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is phenomenal. If presed though, I think Honky Chateau is his best.

Bumping, because I listened to Honky Chateau this morning. "Mona Lisa's and Mad Hatters" is top notch.

Aw hell yeah. That's my favorite record of his. And he's got a lot of great ones.

Listening to Rock of the Westies for the first time and I'm kinda confused why most people cut off Elton's "classic period" at Captain Fantastic. The album is really good, and has more killer songs than Caribou easily. Not to mention Blue Moves and A Single Man being pretty damn good and his Thom Bell sessions being awesome, too.

I haven't heard that record, but I think the only artist(s) that have a pre-defined streak I actually agree with are The Stones. And Bruce, I guess, even though the records after Tunnel are still very good. I've learned to investigate for myself before judging.

Yeah that's true. The consensus rarely satisfies me.
