Here's a new From First to Last (http://www.epitaph.com) press release:

Top-producer, Ross Robinson – renowned for his highly creative and influential work with rock heavyweights such as SLIPKNOT, KORN, AT THE DRIVE IN, THE CURE, GLASSJAW and SEPULTURA – has signed-on to produce the second full-length album by Epitaph recording artists FROM FIRST TO LAST. Regarding the upcoming project, Robinson stated, “I’m really grateful to do this; this is the band I’ve been waiting for for a long time.”

FROM FIRST TO LAST has already penned a majority of the new record and will continue to focus on writing until they are joined by Ross Robinson at the band’s studio in Albany, Georgia for a period of pre-production. They are then slated to begin tracking the album September 12 at RadioStar Studios in Weed, CA.

Label chief and producer himself, Brett Gurewitz had this to say “In my wildest dreams I couldn’t image a more perfect producer for FROM FIRST TO LAST, than ROSS ROBINSON. It really feels almost too good to be true. This feels like the closest thing to a ‘sure thing’ I have ever been involved with.”

To put it simply: FROM FIRST TO LAST are hot! They are currently riding the popularity of their first full-length album, Dear Diary, My Teen Angst Has A Body Count, which has seen brisk sales since its 2004 release. Having just wrapped-up an exceptionally successful stint on the 2005 Vans’ Warped Tour, the band dropped their second music video – for the track “Note To Self” – with incredible results. The video received immediate air-play on FUSE TV and was served to over 500,000 viewers online in the first week of release. FROM FIRST TO LAST will be headlining the US in late November / December as a continuation of their “Dead By Dawn” tour, again brining out their friends Emanuel, He Is Legend and new band Dead Reckless.

Say FROM FIRST TO LAST “We've created something for ourselves and our fans... a weapon of mass destruction.”

I love these guys to death. Sonny is an amazing singer and Derek is an amazing drummer, not to mention an all around nice guy. These guys have overwhelming potential to go far. Can't wait for their second release.

Seriously, how the fuck can anybody like this band? You'd be surprised at the hoardes of kids who followed them around the St.Louis Warped Tour date..And they didn't even play because they missed their set time due to the bus breaking down.

Seriously, folks, please stop the dissing. Some like them, some don't, but who gives a damn? Let's make this happen and then judge whether it was a good move or not.

By the way, insulting the bands won't stop them from making music they like.

...And we lived happily ever after.

Yet he produced such masterpieces as Relationship of Command and Worship and Tribute. On another note, I don't like FFTL; they're bad music.

H O R R I B L E live... sadly.
hopefully they do better with this new record, dont just try to conform to the scene, and do something original. it would earn them much more respect
sadly it probably won't happen with their producer and fan-base

i know people say sonny rips off bert from the used, but i must say i think from FFTL are a hell of alot better than the used. Their music is alot more interesting then the used, not to mention their drummer is fucking rediculous.

Dear Diary was an awesome debut. The fact that Ross Robinson wants to be involved with them speaks volumes about how cool they are in my oppinion. Robinson is a big time producer and I don't think he would waste his time on an indie CD if he didn't love them

Ross Robinson is pretty much THE only producer for emotional type music...this is the guy that got pissed off at joey jordison for not playing fast enough during "sic" and threw ceramic flower pot at his head...needless to say, jordison played the track with a mouth full of potting soil. Say what you want about either artist or producer...but thats friggin hardcore.

i havent heard Robinson doing a whole lot lately so it will interesting to see what he does with band that pretty much cookie cutter "screamo." I have yet to listen to a cd from robinson that i didnt EXTREMELY enjoy. He's the guy for getting a good performance out of a band.

i wouldn't really call these guys "cookie Cutter screamo". Yes they do have some stuff that sounds like other screamo bands but alot of the music is cooler and more technical (the drumming mainly) then alot of other bands in the genre, they do some cool electronic type shit, cool samples,

i would call hawthorne Heights cookie cutter screamo, not these guys

Jacktheskipper

HH isn`t even screamo ... to be screamo you need a little bit of screaming in the end ... not some quiet crying ...
