Fans Report In: Kris Roe

Alright, so I attended the first of several Kris Roe (The Ataris (http://www.theataris.com)) acoustic shows tonight. He played I believe six new songs from the band's new album, Welcome The Night, as well as some old jams. "Unopened Letter To The World," "How I Spent My Summer Vacation," and "Road Signs and Rock Songs" being a few of those. He also covered Jawbreaker's "Kiss The Bottle." As much as everyone would like to think, Welcome To The Night is not going to suck.

i think its due out in january...maybe im smoking crack though.

and i too never thought it would suck. but once again that might come from being in middle school and sneaking out of the house at night so that i could go watch the first versions of the ataris play in the ghetto out here in indy. so its hard for me to think he could suck or his band could suck.

agreed, that cd was good, maybe not as good overall as blue skies... but some of their best songs are on so long, astoria.

I don't think it will suck, I just have to accepth the fact they won't be playing bouncy pop-punk anymore and Mike and Kid won't be on stage with him. Anyways, I love the Ataris so i'll still buy this the day it comes out without listning to any leaks or anything unofficial.

i agree with everything you just said. its hard to think things wont be the same, but you have that on any band that goes through changes. but we know that the ataris can do it. we know they can put new people with them and still be an amazing band thats why we love them. i think ur right about marko too

p.s End Is Forever is my favorite Ataris album. But I didn't think So Long, Astoria was terrible or anything.

Kris Roe can do no wrong. I've always loved anything he has done. Since everyone is posting their fav. album by them, mine is Blue Skies, Broken Hearts, Next 12 Exits. That cd really got me into this genre.

ah yes blue skies... great one as well i always say end is forever is my favorite cuz i absolutely love I O U one galaxy but i think thats the only reason its my favorite over any other cd. they are all great to me. i also liked the one they did on the spiderman 2 cd which no one else ive ever talked to about it liked.

"Blue Skies" was my favourite, but "So long Astoria" was good too.

(he's also got the L star tattooed on him, and has apparantly been playing "Sweet Little Thing" at some Ataris shows)
