This is pretty shocking that they are getting any sort of recognition. I picked up my album from Best Buy and I said to myself this is probably the only copy they ordered. I didn't expect this album to sell well at all, but it damn sure deserves it

Does anybody have any idea when this album will officially be released in the UK? I realise you can get it off the internet and that's not a problem, but i was just wondering when (and if, i suppose) it's actually going to be properly relased here.
how many copies does that translate to?

You just dont want to admit that One fell swoop is no where near album of the year.
I cringed when I saw that sticker of the album,
maybe you should use your oh so important opinon a little more wisely.

i agree. No, I just want you to admit that by jocking Mae and Just Surrender as much as you did ... you've lost any sort of credibility you had with me.
It is the album album of the year, period. :P Because it's my favorite CD this year, and soooooo, seeing as music is a subjective entity; do the math.

It's in my top 10 right now but I doubt it lasts another month with Death Cab for Cutie and Coheed hitting shelves, then 10/18 another bomb drops.

If Mae -The everglow had been a disney soundtrack i would say that would be pretty awesome. I mean big fan of the disney movies here, and what could make them better....well mae for one.
Sidenote: Ive had one fell swoop for about a month....still listening to it. Cds that fade quickly for me are often pop/punk or pop albums (with exception to Jacks mannequin which i will be listening to forever)

ya pop punk albums usually fade fast for me...spill canvas never really grabbed me though...im a lot more into heavier music though so thats why, i thought it was a good album...but it wont be in my top 10...still enjoy it however

The everglow.....is not the album of the year. Nor is Just surrender's ( c'mon )
i love mae, and I always will.....but I know that there are better albums this year.
i loved how catchy "if these streets could talk" was. It was a fun album.
Mae is certainly a deep fulfilling album, but I know better.
all credibility huh. thats pretty lame Tate. TSC wont even be in my top 30 albums come january.

Someone Elses Arms, Suspension, The Ocean, and The Sun and Moon were all sick tracks, but the album sort of faded on me. Destination: Beautiful owned though.

I missed that tour, and I regret it. I was going to see afi, thursday, and coheed but Davey had those throat problems. I'm still bummed about it.

that tour would have been amazing...thursday wasnt on the date out here...instead i saw AFI headline at a 600 person venue...it was awesome

Yeah but I am going to have to agree with Jason on this one. I love the Jack's Mannequin CD so much, probably more then TSC right now, but TSC is definitely better then Mae's and Just Surrender's new albums. Just Surrender put out one good song on that album...major disappointment for me.
TSC just has so much more emotion then most music that comes out today, its amazing. His lyrics are also some of the best in the biz in my opinion. Good pick on that one Jason.

And this is so difficult for the both of us
I know we tried so hard, there's just no hope for us
Well it's more than a shame that we lost to this game
All my walking, talking, sleeping, breathing -
nothing will ever be the same
i hope yer kidding.

Fate is an elegant, cold hearted whore
she loves salting my wounds, she enjoys nothing more
I bleed confidence, from deep within my guts now
I'm the king of this pity party, with my jewel encrusted crown
I'm utterly disgusted with the path you trek
as inebriated as you can get off your latest paycheck
I am at a loss for words here, I hate to break it you
but being a coward is not a legitimate career.
yeah those lyrics are just ridiculously dumb huh? Just Surrenders are way more intense and emotional.

yeah TSC isn't album of the year, but will definitely make it in my top 10 releases for this year. album of the year is going to come down to Jack's Mannequin, Cartel, Coheed and Cambria, and The Starting Line for me personally. TSL's new album is just everything I wanted them to do with their music.

I don't know about you guys, but the Spill Canvas' acoustic songs always seem to be more passionate, more well written. Some of their faster songs lack a certain something. I'm currently listening to Full Collapse, an amazing album, not relevent to the conversation.

ya i love the starting line album...one of the most overlooked this year i think
and i also agree, spill canvas' acoustic tracks are much better than their plugged in stuff...if that whole cd was acoustic it would be up in the running for album of the year for me i think

Between the footsteps I hear crickets in the trees
a silent army marching with me through a swarm of bees
a needle dragged across a record slowing down
along Division St. the lights were dying out
endless rows of houses stretched on for miles and miles and miles...
TURN THE WINDOWS BLACK
that part gives me chills.
See I heard Full Collapse first, but I love War All the Time so it's unfair to myself to try and choose one

jet black new year is incredible, the countdown at the end gives me chills...
i saw them open with jet black new year at warped a couple of years ago and my god it was insane...it was really sunny right before them, and right when the first chord of jet black hit all these clouds covered the sun...it was unreal

finally talking about a band worth talking about. Thursday is a god send to music. Spill Canvas is not, there i said it. Spill Canvas boner boys attack me all you want, the album is overrated and is nowhere near worth the crown of album of the year.
