Anyone know of any bands with extremely technical guitars they'd like to share with me?

Lamb of God, Children of Bodom, Steve Vai, Satriani, Dream Theatre, Ingve Malmstein, or just liten to metal. Nothing in the genre of music that this site is attributed to is highly techiqual.

Yah i was expecting all the bands to be metal, but any in particular? I'm an idiot when it comes to metal.

I hate the new red chord, it sucks, the old stuff was so much more inventive, the new stuff is just plain and dull.

TMV- just no.

Thrice- IOS, some of TAITA. New stuff won't be very technical

AILD- They play the same 5 notes in different variations on each record. It's boring, dull, and definitely not technical.

Sorry, I hate to be a dick.

Listen to G3- Little Wing (satriani and vai) or older Children of Bodom

nobody's said soilwork or in flames yet. scandinavian metal is the way to go for technical stuff.

So, so awesome.

Threadstarter - try some Carcass - Keep On Rotting In The Free World, its a bit more accessible than I thought it would be.

You could also try Muse - they aren't super technical, but still a very good band.

Also, some others:

Children of Bodom
Stratovarious
Yngwie Malmsteen
Behold The Arctopus
Nile
etc.
