Peoria, IL based band The Charter North (http://www.thecharternorth.com) have recently been recording in the studio with engineer Josh Smith of Rock It Ship Records. You can check out some of there new songs at myspace (http://www.myspace.com/thecharternorth). Be sure to check them out and look for an early 2006 release. They will also be looking for a label the band would like to call home.
Full Band Bio:
A sound based on the intense pop vocals of singer-guitarist Rob Applegate, catchy and intricate lead guitar riffs by Chris Howard, precise bass from Nate Hawksworth, and the combination of speed and technical skills of drummer John Smithers, The Charter North have a new found drive and intensity since their formation in late August of 2004.
After parting ways with their original drummer in April of 05, just a month later TCN was back to full speed after enduring numerous drummer auditions and finally a trial-by-fire debut show for Smithers in their hometown of Peoria Il. After leaving for their second tour in late August/early July TCN began recording their first full length CD in St. Louis Mo., at Rock It Ship Records with engineer Josh Smith.
A record full of memorable pop-rock anthems featuring shimmering guitar sounds, clear vocals, and some of the fastest drum fills to come out of Illinois, TCN has found their own sound in a sea of similarity. TCN is preparing for their 3rd tour while working towards small label distribution. They have been fortunate enough to share the stage with such indie greats as Planes Mistaken for Stars (No Idea Records), Scatter the Ashes (Epitaph Records) The Forecast (Victory Records) Scouts Honor (Thinker Thought Records) and The December Drive (American Jealousy Records).
