Social Issues.

In a job application, I need to write a 500 word essay on an American social issue and what I would do to change it. If I wanted to tell the truth, I would write about how collectivism is the downfall of free-thinking and I would encourage people to develop individual goals and concepts. This is a bad idea because most jobs are based off of teamwork. Since this is a volunteer organization focused mainly around helping children through through the educational system, I am thinking that bullying or peer pressure is a safer route. I don't know though. Any ideas?

You've had so many well-meaning ideas pitched to you so far I just don't know what you'll do with yourself. If you can write something that has to do with the company that would be better. If it were me, I'd write about how we need to get kids focussed on the big picture instead of the here and now. Kids think every insignificant thing is the end of the world- when their boyfriend of three days dumps them, when their friends who aren't actually their friends stop hanging out with them. If we can remind them that staying true to their own beliefs is important and just screw everyone else, they would grow up emotionally healthy and with a better sense of individualism.

It just occurred to me that this post may be coming to you too late since job applications have due dates but whatever...
