well. let me start off by saying, I really liked this band in 2002. I remember I had purchased the first Atticus compilation and I liked The Used song that was on there...I think it was Box Full of Sharp Objects, but anyway, I went to Warped Tour that year and saw them on the volcom stage playing to about 40 people, and they ROCKED. Their performance was so energetic, and they weren't saying dumb things either. About a month later I saw them at Ozzfest, where they were terribly out of place, but I guess all of the black they wore made up for it? Their set was decent, but I noticed they were getting kind of weird. Anyway. The next time I saw them was at a radio show the year after and they rocked really hard. This was also before the new album was even being written. I had also watched them at Warped Tour that year as well, and I enjoyed their performance. So it had been a while since I had seen The Used, and when their tour with Glassjaw was announced, I bought my ticket right away. I love Glassjaw, and The Used being on the bill was a plus. Anyway, as you all know, Glassjaw cancelled, I was upset, but it's nothing they can control, my blessings go out to Daryl, I'd love to see GJ again. Anyway...The Used was just...bleh...I don't like their new songs at all. Bert's voice was terrible. Lay off the jack daniels dude, it's ruining you, or whatever you're doing Bert. They played an extremely short set for a headliner. One thing I did like was the end of their set when they did this super long drawn out hardcore thing with effects...kind of hard to explain....it was good, but not worth $30. Then I saw The Used on TV the other day acting goofy drinking more alcohol, and yeah....You gotta wonder how long bands like these will hold up...

And before anyone that likes The Used comes on here and says WELL FUCK YOU YOUR BAND SUCKS YOU CANT TALK, well, just read that paragraph, I'm not even trying to talk shit, I'm just being real and giving my opinion. <3

Back on track.

The Used's first album was coolish. Had some really good songs on it. They were simplistic though and really it was Berts vocals that managed to make them work. Best songs were Blue and Yellow, On My Own, Poetic Tragedy and Buried myself alive.

Now the Used seem to have gone a bit cliche on themsevles (The poem at the end of I'm A Fake) and the songs of the new album seem over the top, samey and boring.

I don't really like the first album anymore these days, I overplayed it and I find it boring. That said I have lost a lot of respect for the band after 'In love and death'.

honestly, the used are just like every band who get's big excessively quick. my chemical romance, yellowcard,the used...they all fade out quickly, and don't realize that they're excessive until it happens.

Yeah as we said before our demos were recorded in a basement for free and it was our first recordings.

Also Troy's dad didn't give us money to go to LA to record like he did with Bel Air Academy, and we all left our pop punk bands behind in high school, where they belong.

The Used suck because they are generic.

They're lyrics are bland and unoriginal. Song structures are mid-tempo and don't vary often. They are boring to listen too. They do the sing/scream formula like a million other bands.

Fucking listen to some ISIS, Dredg, Glassjaw, Underoath.

That's good music.
