ok so i'm dangerously close to buying the foo fighters first album. i've heard some of the songs and like what i've heard so far. its outrageously dry punk and i'm wondering if its a good investment

i loved IYH, and echoes was nice, but they strayed too far away from alternative and tried a classic rock sound, which i didn't like as much. one by one was terrible.

my list goes:

the colour and the shape>in your honor>>self titled>>>there is nothing left to lose>echoes, silence, patience and grace>>>skin and bones (only because acoustic 'Best of You' is incredible)>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>one by one.

I would say this is as good as, if not better than The Colour and the Shape. definetly better than their last three albums, especially One By One.

This is my favorite Foo Fighters album. First is best.

Jesus, kids. One by One wasn't that bad.

there were about 4 songs i liked on it. but in my mind, it was by far the low point of their careers. did have three kickass singles on it though.

I really like all of the foo fighter albums, their debut is one of the best overall albums. I heard they were rereleasing it a couple of years ago, but I think they only ended up rereleasing Colour and the Shape. I agree that their sound has changed since the album, still a good album worth checking out.

The Colour & the Shape is best album imo. One by One is good but not as good as Colour.
Echoes sucks balls, they should have done better than that. It's much more of a pop-rock album, and they used to be this straight forward rock band. I was disappointed by that album

anything by the foo's is great.....aside from one by one. Even Dave Grohl said it was chud.

in my opinion, every foo fighters record is great because it has something in it that no other FF record has and no other record has. they are always original and always great! i was in middle school when this record came out and loved every minute of it. i taught myself how to play drums listening to this record. a majority of the bands discussed on this site are flashes in the pan. whereas the foo fighters have been around longer than most of you all have have had your adult teeth.
