i know i have spyware or some kind of virus, because my computer makes random noises for no reason. i have run ad-aware professional and spyware doctor and they always find spyware on my computer. but when I delete it, I still have the sounds. anyone know what i should do?

i'd save all my stuff to discs, or if you have a repair point, go back to when it first started...or wipe your c drive over..that would be one of your functions.

it comes from the speakers.. and i really don't want to reformat. i just got this laptop about a month ago and i just got done putting all my shit on it. i don't know how this even happened, i haven't even gone to any porn sites.

Try using AVG to scan it out. They have a professional free addition thing. Are the noises random or are they related to chatting instruments...aka AIM.

Try using AVG to scan it out. They have a professional free addition thing. Are the noises random or are they related to chatting instruments...aka AIM. yea, the IM sound is one of the random noises

Erm, does the AIM sound sound when somebody messages you? Because sometimes people are psycho and turn on the AIM expressions and have random shit running around and those blobs make noises. It's aggravating.

once you got spyware on its a huge bitch to get it off, best bet is to reformat you can try Hijack This if you can figure out how to use it

Yeah, Hijack This works too, it's quite simple actually. I mean, if I can figure it out you can.

As for Norton, delete that bullshit. Norton is just crap.

And MACs, don't get me started...the only thing Macs are good for are graphic design programs.

Never tried it.

My dad was like, 'I'll pay for Norton on your laptop since it will save money on repairs and all that down the line,', and I haven't had one problem.
