man, wish i could say the same about where i live.

all the bands around here are metalcore. not just regular metalcore, but really awful, terrible metalcore. and especially in our county, there are no bands whatsoever in a scene that used to have more bands than it knew what to do with.

the main high school in the area is asking us to come play in their Battle of the Bands, even though we're too old to compete, because the teachers said "there needs to be at least ONE good band" in order for some of them to come. i can't believe the lady told me that, and that the teachers would say that, but i think it's hilarious haha

Really good debut, especially the tracks "Wake Up", "Stop Talking", "Revenge Wears No Wristwatch" and the title track. It's still got everything that I love/makes others love The Walkmen, the prominent snare beats and reverb whacked up to about a million on the guitars. If you liked You & Me you will definitely like it. I recommend it. I was told by a friend who has listened to them a lot longer than me and has all their releases, that they have slowly been trying to properly find their sound, tweaking different things album to album and apparently You & Me is all the good parts from the other albums into one that sounds like they have reached where they want to be.

edit: the song "We've Been Had" from that album is also amazing, I just recommend it and their other CD's too. They recorded a cover album of Harry Nilsson and John Lennon's Pussy Cats too, but it's the only one I don't have, apparently very good.

I kept hearing about how great they are, and the only songs I knew were "Counting 5-4-3-2-1" and "The Other Side Of The Crash / Over and Out (Of Control)", so I checked out A City By The Light Divided, and I love it.

What else by them should I check out next?
