Is the motherfucking man. I've said it before and I'll say it again, no one can hold a candle to him these days. He writes some of the best original songs out there, is an amazing lyricist, guitarist, and does some damn fine covers as well (The Jam, Split Enz, Stiff Little Fingers, Kelly Clarkson, etc). I can't wait to see him play at the Washington Monument on the 24th. Holy shit.

like the best singer/song-writer you've heard, and a bag of chips.

He's just fucking amazing. Mod-punk a la The Jam. It's good, that's all you need to know. Shake The Sheets was probably the best album of 2004 and easily the most underrated, while Tyranny Of Distance (2001) is an independent classic.

Hence why I asked. They're from New Zealand so I figured you'd be the guy. Do you have History Never Repeats: The Best Of The Split Enz? That's what I've been dying to hear.

Tyranny of Distance is incredible. Under the Hedge and Timorous Me instantly plaster my face with a shit-eating grin. Shake the Sheets is pretty damn sweet, the only album I'm not fully sold on is Hearts of Oak though it does have its moments.
