Does anyone remember the old show "The State"? That show was fucking hilarious. It was a sketch comedy show, I think on MTV, and had Michael Ian Black, as well as the other two members of Stella(whose names I forget) and a shitload of other great comedians.
I was just watching it on vhs the other night.

So does anyone remember this?

Online petitions really dont accomplish anything. however they are planning to put the State on dvd, which is good for my vhs tapes are wearing thin from too many watchings. All 3 members of stella are from the state, also half of reno 911 is form the state. Wet hot American Summer had a ton of people from the state too.

that show was fantastic.

with stella and reno 911 it kinda fills that void. but they don't compare. wet hot american summer was good. and the baxter looks kinda funny. but still. i want the real thing.

it needs to be on dvd.

i paid close to $100 a few years ago on ebay to obtain a copy of every episode, even the cbs ones, on vhs.

shitty quality. but it was well worth it.

there was some website I was on which was supposedly was thier official site, I am too lazy right now to find it again, I am sure you can google it. but anyway I read that "the state" and mtv were working towards putting it on DVD and getting it out for sale so there is some hope.

Stella is f'n hysterical and everyone should watch it.

In October 2007, Michael Ian Black and Michael Showalter announced during one of their live comedy shows that The State would be making a TV movie for Comedy Central to be completed in 2008. They added that the long-awaited The State DVD would likely be released at the same time as the movie.

No problem, I'm just happy to get more people into it and it's even better when they're like "wow, why has it taken me 15-16 years to finally see this?" There are too many people who are fans of Wet Hot American Summer and Reno 911 and have never even heard of The State. You got any favorite skits you'd like to share so far?

old fashioned guy and "I wanna put my balls in it" (just because of how random and persistent it is, could not stop laughing).

and strange enough, I've seen every Reno multiple times and love the hell out of the show yet had never had this recommended to me.

Stella's another show with guys from The State (Black, Showalter, and Wain) and Thomas Lennon has had a career of writing hit films (both Night at the Museum films along with Robert Ben Garant of The State) and even having roles in a couple of them (I Love You Man and Balls of Fury).

The closest thing to a State reunion happened with Role Models. A couple of them just up and left after the show ended and that was that.
