Today I'm in my kitchen, making some chicken when my flat mate and his girlfriend walk in. They say hi, put some food in the microwave and the proceed to start making out with each other. Awkwardness ensues... for me. This is the second time this has happened in the past week. Does anyone else think it's inappropriate to make out with someone in front of other people? Especially in a kitchen?

Yeah, unless there is another couple around..then it's okay haha

It's not something I would do, mainly because I know how awkward it can be. I figured everyone did.

I wouldn't either.

I'm fine with kissing, but straight mackin in front of people is a little awkward.

Would it be rude of me to say something the next time?

I think making out in front of somebody is rude, but it's more than okay to fuck.

Next time they start doing it, walk up behind one of them and smack them on the ass and then say something creepy. I guarantee you they'll never do it again.

I'm slightly PDA-phobic myself. >:

and if they say "we're in a room" then you say "then lose some weight!"

PDA should be limited to cuddling/spooning and quick pecks.

I hate PDA because of all the awkwardness that ensues. Cute little kisses and hand holding and stuff like that are acceptable.

there's always an awkward silence whenever people begin making out in the middle of a conversation..

Just wiggle yourself in between them next time to show them how left out you feel. :)

I'm not really a fan of pda. Holding hands and what not is okay, but I don't even like making out at a bar, especially when your friends are around.

I hate pda. holding hands is okay..hugging and a quick kiss goodbye are okay if one person is leaving..but other than that, get the fuck off each other, nasty.

a short kiss in public is fine, but anything more is just weird.

My girlfriend and I are not affectionate at all with other people hanging around, mainly because we have been in that position so many times alone, we hate putting others through it. Whenever a couple is doing something they ought to be doing behind closed doors -- making out, talking cute, being sweet, etc. -- if you are the third wheel... you just want to die.

Really friggin' awkward.

btw. Thanks Chris for taking the avatar I wanted. Ass hole. haha.

Hand holding, hugs etc are acceptable, as well as little kisses. I hate seeing people just make out in front of me. I want to punch them in their faces.

Yesterday I was driving around with my friends and they started making out... Like out of NOWHERE.
I tried to keep my eyes on the road and not interrupt. But that was definitely super awkward.

Nah. Too late. I don't want it anymore. Too hurt.

i noticed my gf pulls this little stunt

if my gf sees a pretty girl anywhere where we are... all of a sudden she pulls me and and tries to get me to give her a kiss.. kinda lame and annoying

but i guess its cute, in a way

It's annoying when people do that in the halls in school. Can't a quick kiss suffice? Attention whores.

Next time it happens start making out with yourself. Very few people can lick their own elbows but pretty much everyone can bend their arm up like they're lifting a weight and shove their tongue in the crevice forged by their forearm and bicep area.

Anything past holding hands, hugs, and such should be kept private.

even a kiss on the cheek?

even a kiss on the cheek?

Obviously too far. Couples should just stand next to each other and try their hardest never to touch in public. It only makes sense.

I don't know, I saw a couple tonight kiss on the cheek and it was actually rather endearing.

even a kiss on the cheek?

I included the "and such" to infer things in the vein of holding hands/hugs, and I consider a kiss on the cheek in the same vein of intimacy... I just didn't want to list every instance which I deem publically acceptable.
