The best albums of the year so far in my opinion are Finch, Foo Fighters, Dredg, Acceptance, Vendetta Red, OK GO, and Every Time I Die.

how is btbam the best cd of the year? its not even close to their best work, therefor in my opinion anyway it isnt even in the running for album of the year

BTBAM is good for me to listen to when I'm in an angry mood. Other than that, I don't think I'd ever give a hardcore/metal-ish album a nomination for Album of the Year unless it absolutely blew me away.

I like Alaska, but it's not nearly as enjoyable to me as The Silent Circus is.

just because it's not as good as the silent circus (or self-titled) doesn't mean it shouldn't be in running for best of the year... it's not the best of the year but, it's my number 2.
