View Full Version : Senses Fail Find Replacement Guitarist For Upcoming Tour

Jared Kaufman

This is taken from Senses Fail (http://www.sensesfail.com)'s website:

"Hey everyone. As many of you may be wondering, we said we are going to be playing as a five piece on the fall tour. We're proud and lucky enough to say that Heath from the band Midtown (http://www.midtownrock.com) will be filling in for the entire tour. If you don't know Midtown, do yourself a favor and check them out. Also, it has come to our attention that for quite some time there has been some bad rumors going around about us. Although it's our personal lives and business, to set the record straight, NONE of us do drugs."

Looks like they aren't too big to still read AP.net.........it's a shame they can't spend that time getting better so their live show wasn't so horrendous.

The first step to recovery is admitting they have a problem. They have to be on drugs...There is no other explanation for what I like to call "cats in heat with guitars"; some may call it a "live show"

Apparently i'm one of the few people who actually enjoyed seeing them live. I actually saw them play with Midtown and I thought both bands performed really well. I met Buddy real quick after the show (actually Gabe introduced us) and he seemed real nice and down to earth to me. Just my observation though.

Well at least they're making a step in the right direction by picking up a good guitarist for the tour

I totally can't picture Heath playing with Senses Fail. He'll look like their father on stage or something.

With the addition of Heath, this band just got 1000% times better live. That man can play. Midtown still kills them in every facet though.

I like the "If you don`t know Midtown" part of the news message ... everyone liking Senses Fail should really listen to some Midtown, could open your mind for something (I don`t wanna use the word "better" ;-)) else ...

whats wrong with drugs?
Perhaps they took so much, they forgot they took some ...

Senses Fail sucks. On record and in a live setting. Not to mention they're all a bunch of egotistical pricks in person.

Bad rumors? Whats he talking about?

He sounds like a 12 year old-"Ive heard you've been saying bad things about me, well they're not true!"

Finally i have a reason to watch senses fail when i see them in November with SA, STD, and TEN. I can at least finally meet heath

number one: it's their lives...who gives a shit even if they all DO do drugs. why the hell does anyone care. i will stand up for them cuz no one else here seems to give a shit about them. i think they are an awesome band with an amazing live show. did anyone see them at Warped Tour? they were the best band there! i met them all at their booth and they were ALL super awesome. i got the distinct impression that they all were super happy and appriciative to be there. if they didn't give a shit about any of their fans they wouldn't have sat in their tent at 2:00 on a hot afternoon meeting everyone. the biggest shame here is that people are just taking everyone else's word for it. go find out for your fucking self.

Bandaid: I did see them at warped. Buddy still cant hit his high notes. Its very annoying.. And at Chicago, no one said a word while signing shit they just passed it on down and acted like pricks.. its ok to admit they've worsened alot over time.

I did, and your dumb. They HAVE to look like that when they're at their booth. Do you really think they could sit there and be dicks to all their fans while their signing autographs? No. I've hung around them when no one was around, and they were assholes.

i still like senses fail. i used to talk to buddy and mike a lot, but now i really don't. a lot of it is because bands get so busy and have a million people pulling them in different directions at the same time. but different people have different opinions. a lot of people think senses fail are assholes (and maybe they were to that person) but they have been nothing but nice to me. i'm not blonde, i don't drink or do drugs, or am all over them like a lot of people say sf only hang around with. i've hung out with them, just them, and sean and we had a great time. and as far as their music, if you say they suck live then don't go see them. of course their music is gonna change. there is nothing worse then a band who plays the same exact sound through out their careers. bands have to evolve and try new sounds, that's the beauty of being a musician. so hate me or love me because i am sticking up for senses fail as people and as musicians. what goes on in their personal lives is their business. to believe stories about someone without actually being able to confirm it yourself is kind of childish.

I liked them all the times i saw them. One time buddy's voice got a little weaker towards the end. But still fine, and i've seen them 4 times.

Yea, i was thinking that about the doing drugs thing too. I think he's probably referring to hard drugs. He's probably one of those people who don't consider pot to be a "real drug" or whatever.

I hung around them when they were alone and they were cool. I really think a lot of people just make shit up cause they don't like the band.

Honest to God. They are dicks. I saw them in their natural habitat. When people hang out with them after shows and stuff, it's because they are fans or something of that nature. I saw them in the morning and they didn't know if I was a fan or from someone else party or what. Anyways, the story goes like this.

I had won a contest through Etnies shoes to be MCR's roadie for a day at last year's Warped Tour Chicago. At the time, MCR and SF were on (or were about to go on) a mini-tour together so they were sharing a tourbus. Their manager comes back to the bus to talk to them. Kevin Lyman contacted their manager to ask them if they wanted to play because they were around and everything, plus it would be cool for the fans if they played as a surprise. Immediately Buddy starts bitching. "Why do we have to play? We're not under contract! We're not making any money! No one even knows we're here!" It was the most dishonerable thing I have ever seen anyone from any band do. I don't care how fucking big you or your band is. All he had to say was no or something, but he threw a big hissyfit like a baby. Plus, whatever happened to playing just to be able to play? Fuck him.

Then later on after MCR had played and finished their signings and stuff, everyone in SF was trashed out of their minds. Needless to say I heard and saw some interesting things.

So yeah, I didn't make shit up. I was there first hand, but believe what you want.

shit i really hate this "hating senses fail" I don't have any reason to stop you guys, but in my opinion it's ridiculous, every post about them is so fucking negative, i've seen them live, they we're good , yes good, and they we're very friendly and no that's not why i like them, i just supported them from the beginning and i won't talk shit about them because someone else does...i agree that you people don't like them but please quiet that negativity just think about when someone attacks a band you like...

As much as i agree with you, I disagree with you because Senses fail shared a bus with HIPV and The early november on last years warped tour. I know that becasue Justin the guy who does merch for alot of the drive thru bands did merch for hipv an we spoke about warped etc and about the whole abdn being trashed Garret does drink or smoke or do drugs and Neither does Mike. I'm not sayign i disagree with you in anyway atall im just saying what i know.
