TJ Minich has left Spitalfield (http://www.spitalfield.net/newtemp/index.htm) due to personal reasons. The band and us here at AbsolutePunk wish him the best of luck in all his future endeavors.

i heard he only left for time that they tour now, for personal reasons, but if he left for good, than it's nothing bad sad, he was one of the best bassists for me, do you have some officials statements?

At the SF show yesterday they said his replacement's name was TJ (no joke) and called him TJ #2. Not sure though whether he's permanent or temporary.

TJ was such a great guy. They really put on one of the better shows I've seen. They played at Krome (before it closed down) twice in a matter of 3 months and both shows were great. I'm afraid about how it will effect the band. TJ seemed to be a major influence in the direction the music went since he joined. He did write some of the songs. Best wishes to him. Obviously personal matters are more important.

God, that's terrible. I saw it coming ever since Chuck passed on. If TJ(#2) is really the replacement bassist then we're in for really good things. He is the singer/guitarist of Divide By Zero and they are amazing. He toured with them after TJs first show back after his brother died. I hope that Divide By Zero doesn't break up, though. I wish the best of luck to T.J. and anything he does in the future. Maybe a Knockout reunion(haha)?

I saw Spitalfield's site was down for a while, and I was fearing the worst. I was hearing that TJ wasn't taking it very well, and apparently thats the case. At least Spitaljuice hasn't broke up...We'll see what comes of this.

Divide by T.J. (T.J. # 2) will add a new element to the already rocking lineup. Though T.J. Minich is one of the greatest, coolest, nicest, raddest, most awesome bro ever, I understand completely why he has left the band. This is a completely personal choice. I am stoked to hear his band that he was telling me about with some of the dudes from CapN' Jazz called "Machine Elves". If I remember correctly, this was something that he and Chuck always talked about so I think it's going to be something more for him on a deeper level. Oh well, all bands still rock. (Stop Doing Bad Things is one of the best albums of the year.)

If so, I was there, they owned.

Wow, that really sucks for all parties involved. I wish TJ nothing but the best and hope things get better soon. And I hope TJ #2 takes over permanently. He was really good, I liked what I saw on the Action Action tour.

Actually you're right I didn't go to the Cath 22 one. But I know they played with Silverstein in the lounge and then two months later their own headlining where almost no one showed up. Both these shows were in the lounge. I missed the one out on the main stage.

this guy was (is!) simply the best, anyone know any other bands he was in besides spitalfield, the knockout and project rocket? like i said - he's one the best bassists - he have style, if it's not temporary than spitalfield lose something great. we'll see

This isn't fair! He's part of this band and he's fun to watch on stage :( Now I'll never get to hear Fairweather Friend :(

This is devastating. Spitalfield deserves so much more credit than they're actually getting. Good luck to this band and their future. That 13 days of bad things contest rocked.

This sucks, I will never forget him getting a haircut in Portland at the old meow meow while Fall Out Boy was playing the Radio Takever Tour in August 2003. Goodluck to him.

That sucks, I hope we hear from him again in the future. And I hope the new guy, TwoJ is a suitable replacement for Classic TJ.
