While brushing my teeth, I was looking at a light in the bathroom with a fly buzzing around inside of it. I was thinking "How sad is it that something with a mind so simple can be so disoriented by the light as a distraction?" While looking, I started to walk out and ran into an open drawer that I didn't see because I was looking up.

hahaha lucky! mine used to look so ugly... I did that til I was 9 maybe? But my hands and nails would still get all messed in hs, so some girls would always work on making them look nice... kinda miss that.

that's odd... sometimes I'll be watching something and like something else will catch my eye and like 10 minutes later, I barely remember about the movie.

I'm alright... alittle sleepy and hearing steel train. and you?

BJW7191

Lol, well I don't really care about the nails... I just care about the attention... like this one girl would do them every week... I almost wanted to mess them up more to get the treatment done more often.

odd. I do agree about like certain noises not allowing you to concentrate... hate that.

Sucks... aren't you almost done for the night though?

When I was younger, I used to tell my mom "Ahhhh make it stop!" And she'd say "Make what stop?" And my reply was always
"There are too many voices talking at once in my head!" I also am easily frustrated by annoyingly loud noises, so much that I avoid lots of restaurants and movie theaters. And I can read pages and pages, and my mind is no where in the book.

ADD? I've done tests and they say I have it but meh

me too, but that's usually whenever I'm anxious. I don't really realize I'm doing it until after the fact.

I get distracted in conversations a lot, and go on tangents. And if I'm having an in person conversation with my friends, if I forget what I'm talking about, or see something that grabs my attention, it's a lost cause.

there's a genetic link in some cases, but not in others, plus there's a lot of gray area, symptomwise, when it's diagnosed. it's still pretty mysterious at this point, sort of like autism.

the problem isn't so much people self-diagnosing, it's doctors overmedicating people based on BS 'symptoms' for the kickbacks from big pharma companies. awful.

for those who take adderall for ADD the stuff works phenomenal however its very dangerous and causes problems i went from a 1.7 gpa to a 3.8 and it got me to where i stopped and could still achieve the same results by having a work regimen. the only thing was i abruptly stopped adderall every day to get off of it in the summer and i dont know what happened but i had the most insane surreal panic attacks. it was like a constant strong panic feeling that lasted months and i ended up in the hospital thinking i was dying. im almost sure it was from the adderall. i eventually got better without medicine. as my body adjusted back to normal but fuck was that scary! i still have some stress and anxiety ever since i went through that.

This.

You are aware that most people with ADD are toddlers when they're diagnosed right? Meaning these kids are just acting like kids... but their crazy parents freak out because a doctor says its "abnormal" behavior, then they stick the kid on 500mg of pills a day, resulting in them ACTUALLY being fucked up later on in life.

Agree 1,000,000%. I work at a children's camp in the summer and there are kids who acts nuts constantly, but would I tell their parents its something of concern? NO. They're fuckin' children!!!

and I agree, sticking people on meds really isn't the solution for that. a lot of them stop working after a week and have crappy side effects.
