It appears as though Death Cab For Cutie (http://www.deathcabforcutie.com)'s new album, Plans, did even better last week than I initially reported. It will be debuting at #4!!!

Holy shit, that's nuts. I would never expect a band like Death Cab to do that well, even after being so pimped by The OC and whatnot, they still remain at least somewhat less accessible than everything else that sells that well.

"The former indie label band Death Cab For Cutie (not to be confused with their lesser known “brother” band, Choose Life Train For Ugly) debut their first major label release for Atlantic at #8, with a very healthy 71k" -Hits

#1 Kanye West "Late Registration"
#2 Yayo "Thoughts of a Predicate Felon"
#3 Brooks and Dunn ""Hillbilly Deluxe"
#4 Death Cab "Plans"
#5 Mariah Carrey "Emancipation of Mimi"

I think it's kind of funny to see Death Cab on a little list with those artists, especially sandwiched between Brooks and Dunn and Maria freakin' Carrey (she drives me nuts).

Oh, and "Plans" sold 90,000 copies!!!

I'll go ahead and say it: Plans is the best album I've heard all year.

Thrice, the floor is yours. Come out swinging, because this is your best competition for album of the year in my book.
