Forgive me if there's already an active thread, but a search yielded nothing, and I'm usually pretty poor at finding threads as it is.
Anyway, appreciate.

Ahh, sorry, my bad. Threads tend to sink around here though, it's a shame, hah.
Good man. Seems like there aren't too many fans in the music forum, apparently.

Yeah, most people talk about it in the general. Oh well, it's all good. As long as there's a thread on the first page here.

Mhmm, seems that he's pretty well-liked in General. Hopefully people give either your thread or this one some love, haha. needs to be more.

Been in love with P.O.S. since Audition. Picked up the new album the other night and its mind blowingly good. If you havent seen him live, get on it.
Yesss. Just got into him recently. Rhymesayers are such a good label.
And Chris, i didn't know you were into (good) hip hop. Cool. Shows how long ive been away i guess. How did you like the last Atmosphere album? And Q-Tip's latest? I think they're both amazing.

Agreed.
And yeah, I've been getting into more hip hop/rap lately. The latest Atmosphere album was decent, but a little overhyped, I thought. Pretty forgettable. Haven't given Q-Tip a listen yet, but I'll be sure to do that soon.
Atmosphere fucking sucks.
And Midnight Marauders > Low End Theory.
Midnight Marauders was released on the exact day that I was born, meaning it is better than any other album ever.

All the people in "Low Light Low Life" are from Doomtree and most are more talented then Stef. I said it.
Dessa is my favorite member, by far.

Just saw the Never Better tour last night in Boston. Seriously the most fun I have had at a show in a long time. Sims and Hand Over Fist were sick, and P.O.S. rocked it. He absolutely impressed me when he picked up his guitar and played the parts to "P.O.S. is Ruining My Life" and one song from Never Better (can't remember the name right now). He also had Sims and Mictlan come out for a few songs, and they jumped into the crowd to have a "dance party" for one song.
I also have to recommend the Doomtree album to everyone. Dessa's verses alone are worth the price.

Me too. It's artists like P.O.S. that I hope can convince those silly people who put "anything but rap and country" in their favorite music sections that there's some great stuff out there if they just dig deeper.

I believe he's well on his way to doing that. The crowd at the show last night was 95% white, and could easily have been the crowd at any punk/indie/whathaveyou show.

That's cool. It seems like more artists are bridging the gaps lately (at least, that's how I'm seeing it) and it's great. Some friends of mine who used to hate rap like it now that they've heard artists like P.O.S.

I think Doomtree and Rhymesayers are definitely bridging the gaps between fans of rap/hip-hop and of other genres. People just need to let go of the stereotypes built by Top 40 radio and realize there's a lot of intelligent music to be heard in rap, not just throwaway beats and lyrics. Without a doubt, though, P.O.S. demonstrates a great amount of versatility and range and is definitely trying to reach far beyond the genre of rap/hip-hop to find fans. With any luck, he'll start bringing in more people from the "scene" to be on his records, and vice-versa. I also hope Lazerbeak will make more beats like the one he did on "Purexed" for P.O.S. That shit's gold.
Sorry for the long-winded reply. The show last night got me so amped on P.O.S.
