Btw, this is serious, if you haven't seen Crash yet, then do yourself the greatest favor ever and go rent it or buy it. It's my favorite movie of the year and definitely one of all-time. There's a reason I saw it a few times in the theatre and made sure to pick up a copy (it just came out on DVD this past Tuesday). I played it for my boy last nite and he said it's one of the greatest things he's ever seen. I'm a HUGE advocate of this film and I just want to make sure everyone at least checks it out.

The producers said "we can stretch this out forever, there's like 40 other people to do back stories on!" ugh.

it's different, but it's just SO poorly executed. That show could be incredible if they'd cut with the backstories bullshit and actually devote more time to plot development.

Brilliant film. I love it to pieces. Michael Pena, Matt Dillon and Terrence Howard make that movie, but the rest of the cast is amazing too.

You can't tell me there's not too much back stories on lost. You can't tell me that it wasn't better at the beginning. You just can't. NOTHING HAPPENS on that show. It's like a bunch of characters nobody gives a shit about (the asian couple) that take up 6 episodes chock full of 3 hours of plot lines to tell one thing...yeah, we get it, he worked for her dad, he got mixed up in the wrong crowd, he abuses his wife and is proud, and loves her. GOT IT. I didn't need that dominating 5 episodes to tell me that. How about something just HAPPENS. arrrrrrrrrgh.

Thats the thing, for me, the characters are a huge part of the hook. I think this season will be even better. I agree with you on the show ends when they are rescued, but who knows when that will be. Its a great show for the first season, towards the end they did stutter on the hatch and sort of just ignored that for a few episodes as some people I know complained about. But the whole deal with Boone and Locke took precedent very quickly.
That being said I think Locke is right up there with Gob from AD for best character on TV.

I know that having the same characters was intentional but every episode i watched was either taken completely from the british office or taken liberty with in a way that was not good. I believe it was the second episode of the us office where the guy played by Raine Wilson had his one private office to do the insuarnce benefits for the branch, it was a complete take off of the episode where Gareth investigated something (i can't remember and i'm sick/tired and don't care to look it up). Ok, my point is that even though they are similar I prefer the british one over the american one and honestly can't stand the american one even though i'm a fan of a few of the actors.
