Why such a lack of Melodic Hardcore?

After visiting these forums every so often, I though to myself...

Why is there practically no melodic hardcore bands on this website?

Shai Hulud, It Prevails, Saints Never Surrender, Modern Life Is War etc.

Anyone else into those bands or at least their sound?

We talk about some Melodic Hardcore bands in the punk thread. Not really the bands you mentioned though, the exception being Modern Life Is War. We've talked about them before. I wouldn't call the others Melodic Hardcore bands though. And a lot of actual melodic hardcore bands have their own threads. I know Lifetime, Death Is Not Glamorous, Shook Ones, Kid Dynamite, Paint It Black, Strike Anywhere, etc, do. Some may not have been posted in for a few months, but they're here if you search for them.

Those bands aren't really what I'm talking about. Basically the bands I mentioned with the exception of Shai Hulud are part of the newer generation of melodic hardcore.

If you listen to Kid Dynamite compared to Saints Never Surrender you'll understand exactly what i mean.

Melodic Hardcore is just the closest genre you can give bands like It Prevails, progressive hardcore I guess would fit as well.

They have more leads and so much diversity in parts compared to every hardcore band out there.

Maybe...listen to them?
