First of all, I would like to honor all those who were lost or who had their lives changed on this date in 2001.

Secondly, I slept like an angel this morning, so I get to be the last set of recs. Oh well

The New Pornographers (http://www.matadorrecords.com/music/mp3s.html) - Some people don't like the new album Twin Cinema as much as the older stuff, but I sure do, and so does Pitchfork, so I guess you can't dispute that. Hahaha JK!

The Snake, The Cross, The Crown (http://www.purevolume.com/thesnakethecrossthecrown) - I'd probably put Mander Salis under my top 10 underappreciated albums. What a gem, but they never really broke out. Ridiculously talented set of musicians with a hypnotizing live show. Go back and give Mander another listen, cause it's really really special. With such a dramatic change in sound who knows what they'll roll out with next... I'm excited.

Well I'll keep it at that until next week, but DON'T FORGET:

9.20.05
Coheed and Cambria- Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV,
Volume 1: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness
[In 9 Days… This is no beginning, This is the Final Cut]

I really like TSTCTC. The show they played with MBD last October was one of the best I saw all year.

And, I still have never listened to a single song by the New Pornographers. I don't really know why, I guess it's mostly just me being lazy and hating downloading, but also not wanting to buy something I haven't heard yet.

Haha, Pitchfork. I hate them, and yet I still I check that site daily during the week. It's the only site I've found that reviews and posts news on the majority of the bands I listen to (even though I don't agree with a lot of the reviews).

Threshold of Eternity, great song. Mander Salis was one of the coolest progressions in music style I have ever heard a band make. Like a Moth to a Flame was great, but Mander Salis was just beautiful. The album is definatley a gem and worth the risk of just buying, even if you have never heard a track. I did.

I loved TSTCTC's ep, but the full length doesn't do it for me.
