help with posting pictures

ok, call my stupid
but ive been having difficulties putting images on my posts.
i know theres the "insert image" button you just click and then you type in the url there
but everytime i save a post, it just appears as the url itself instead of the images.

i tried using html "..." but its not working either.
is it my settings?? is my picture too big?
im a n00b here :-|

i wud appreciate it very much if any of you guys are willing to help

Post a link to a picture you want to post in here and I'll try to show you how.

If the link doesn't end in .jpg then it won't work. You'd have to upload it to something like photobucket so it has a more normal url.

Removing all the code after '.jpg' for that particular picture doesn't work. You could always save it to your hard drive and then upload it as an attachment to the post - you do this by clicking the 'Go Advanced' button, and then the paperclip icon.
