I just got the album. It's sounding pretty good so far...hopefully they will redeem themselves after the big step backwards they took on Silent Earth. I'll get back to you.

I'm almost all the way through it now, and I think it's a million times better than Silent Earth. They seem to have gone back to their Second Stage style. That is, there aren't any blatant radio singles. Frankly, I'm glad. It's ok, Death Cab for Cutie did the same thing -- they had blatant radio hits on Transatlanticism, but their new album Plans is much better.

i think the opposite...this is more of the direction IKSOSE:3 hinted at...it just bores me to death

I would say the suffering is a perfect single. have you heard it? When i first heard it til even today i have the " Listen well, will you marry me" stuck in my head. it does remind me of three evils though, that was like my fav coheed song.

I think they have made a good progression from each album. to me they have just gotten better each album.

That's because it's the exact same tune. And on Willing Well III you can hear the guitar parts are almost the same as some other of their songs. It could make sense though, since all three albums are linked in a story, that the certain guitar part can represent something.

Yeah, suffering is a good single, because it's catchy, but in a good way. The way I see it, there are varying levels of catchy:

1. Freaking awesome catchy
2. Toe-tapping catchy
3. Gimme a break catchy.

Favorhouse was 1, Blood Red Summer was 3. What was with the repeating "you got it's?"

One thing about Suffering, is that that very line you referred to, "Listen well, will you marry me" is exactly the same as, "Pull the trigger and the nightmare stops," which is a much more badass line.

Bingo, you just answered your own criticism.

A little late.

It wasn't criticism, I was just pointing it out.

After you saying that it makes you wonder if claudio did that intentionly writing the songs very similar like that, or did it come out by accident, he wrote the suffering and the thought hey it sounds like three evils. I would probably say a bit of both. I know alot of people who thought three evils should of been a single. Maybe he felt the same and this is another way of doing it.... if that makes sense

I think with blood red summer what got me was the wooahhs at the end of the song, the you got it's appeared a bit campy(is that the word im looking for) to me, i try not to pay attention to them
