Sorry. I know I'm behind on all this stuff, but I'm just catching up on stuff I missed this summer.

Anyway -

Neon Blonde is fucking tight as hell. I'm so into it. I'm starting to wonder if I should give Blood Brothers another shot.

give blood brothers another shot...for the imagery alone.

They are a lot like Blood Brothers, but with piano and stuff like that. And just a lot of insane squeely voices instead of screams.

Like..weird indie pop beats instead of like..full band stuff.

So far I agree. I'm listening to Crimes again though to see if I still feel that way.

I absolutely hated Crimes. it disappointed me soooo much.

I need to give it another listen some time but I had tried before and just could not get into it. The reached their peak at Burn Piano Island, Burn.

Crimes is a really good album if you ask me. Its biggest fault was that it followed one of the best albums of our generation.

I don't know why I had such a hard time getting into them before. I"m enjoying the blood brothers albums twice as much as i ever did before.

weird.

so many bands are like this for me. i'll listen to it - be like..'meh', then listen to it later and then just finally GET it.

That happens to me all the time, too. I won't like something or be fairly indifferent to it in the beginning, but then I'll come back to it later or keep listening to it and all of a sudden something clicks and I love it. It is weird.

I am totally in love with Neon Blonde. But I know a couple people who like them but not TBB. So you still might not like them.

that doesn't seem to happen to me too often. usually my initial opinion sticks with me. the only exception i can think of is when i first listened to They're Only Chasing Safety. and after I saw underOATH live in support of it, i found a new intensity in the album and came to like it a lot.

it definitely pays to keep giving stuff second chances. otherwise your tastes definitely will never change or grow at all.

I've really learned that the last few years. If I don't like something immediately, I force myself to listen to it at least a few more times before I make a final decision.

Yep. That's what I do.

And it's fun to go back and listen to albums you haven't listened to for years and re-realize how much you used to like them, too.

I believe it happened with both GlassJAw and Thrice for me. Back when their debut albums came out. I had someone suggest them to me, and I bought both albums and coulnd't get into either of them. A few months later I took them back out and fucking loved both of them to death.

It was insane. But ya know - thank god I took them back out . lol.

Oh I LOVE doing that. I'm always rediscovering shit that I didn't realize I loved so much.

I brought back out some Radiohead the other day. And the first My Chemical Romance that I don't think I've listened to in 3 years. lol. I forgot how much I used to be insanely into that band before their new album and change of image kinda.

or WTF were you thinking for ever liking this band haha
I know. My taste confuses me. I look back at stuff I used to listen to and I'll be totally impressed with myself sometimes. (Sonic Youth, Radiohead, whatever...) but then I'll also see that I was really into something like Korn and just be like...good lord. How confused was I?

I saw them last summer with Linkin Park and The Used (don't laugh, I went to score points with a girl), and they put on a decent show. I just don't care much for them.

Yeah. I just have some feeling that Jon Davis would be more interesting as a porn producer than to continue making music with Korn.
