Hey, so when i write, i like to try and use different sounding chords to try and bring some uniqueness to my bands music. Its not always that great lol but i try, but i thought it would be cool to throw out some cool chords you like to play.

Anyway i always enjoy playing open power chords in E, its something i picked up from a youth pastor when i started off, but i also enjoy (starting Low E first) 0 13 9 13 0 0, 0 0 9 13 0 0, 9X777XX and have always wanted to work 0 10 9 0 8 0 into a song!

WOo!

This question is misguided. As much as anything, chords react and sound different depending on context. I have no chords that are per say my favorite, I view chords as more underlying colors that are shaded by what proceeds them and the melodic and counter melodic phrases that go on at the same time. One of my favorite chord changes is I, IV, iv. That changed is used a lot in some of the Beatles music. I just don't really get the question, I view chords more as complete progressions rather then individual chords. I could say my favorite chord is am7 but that chord would sound a lot different proceeded by a G7 then it would a G#m7b5

*grips face*

It was such a basic question. No musician would assume all Amin7 chords sound the same regardless of context.

I like C augmented add 9. Just on its own. It sounds cool. The end.
