Anyway, they've just released their third effort 'Hollow Crown' & surprise, surprise - it doesn't let down at all.

They are getting bigger now. Ive seen them twice live and both times they were awesome, put so much energy into it.

While I haven't heard the album yet, Alt Press is fucking trash. I'll never forget, I read an issue at a store once. Cute Is What We Aim For is on the cover and a review of Alesana dubbed them "everything wrong with music today". I could not stop laughing. (Not sticking up for either bands at all)

I'm already wishing they would come back to Tampa, haha. They were great, but I wished I would have been in a better spot for their set. I was like in a corner on the left of the stage and could barely see it.

Well, I found that out first hand now, haha. If it wouldn't have been for that, I probably would have gotten a video of them like I did for the other bands. I got a few pics at least, though they're not that great.

Their set list was the same as what someone said in the thread in the set lists forum.

I liked this band for about 2 months earlier this year, but I'm sick of them now.

One of the only "metalcore" bands I like - they get very samey very quickly but some of the tracks are brilliant. Still, rather them than BMTH any day of the week.

They'd be even sweeter if the sound was better though. Nah, I haven't been to a show there. So far anyways. It's usually Tampa and then local Brandon shows for me. Every once in a great while I'll get to go to one in St. Pete or Orlando though.

Cool, I go to Orlando for shows sometimes as well. Haven't in a while though, last one was for Copeland/Lovedrug/Lydia/Lights which was totally worth it.

A lot of people are really bummed/disappointed. I am really enjoying what i hear right now

It sounds like ETID in some parts, while getting melodic/slower in others. An Open Letter To Myself is pretty well a ballad.

Except there was barely any breakdowns on the new album and I didn't hear Lostprophets in it at all.

Progression. They still have the aggression (albeit not quite as much as Ruin) they just mixed in some clean vocals. I can see the AOF comparison but much better.

New album is good, it took me a couple of listens to get into it but I'm glad I actually took my time to listen to it more then once.

I actually really like the new album. As overcrowded as the genre is, its hard to find a solid good cop/bad cop metalcore album these days. Architects fans wont be happy, but theyre gonna get a whole bunch of new fans.

Could just be me, but it reminds me a lot of Thrice around the middle of their career so far when they started to experiment more openly with styles outside of how they originally sounded. That's not a bad thing by any means though, I definitely appreciate what they've tried to do on this album and I think for the most part they succeeded. It makes me wonder where they'll go next.

It's funny to hear you two mention Thrice and Oh, Sleeper as I feel that the clean vocalist for O,S sounds a lot like Dustin from Thrice.

Either way I like the new Architects album even if it's a bit softer. I can always listen to Necrophagist if I want techy br00t metal.

This is probably my favorite heavy band. Their new song "Untitled" is amazing. They have this atmosphere going on in their music. I can see the comparisons with Thrice, not music-wise, but with their progression.

Hollow Crown is pretty rad, The Hear and Now was terrible, and I can't say I have listened to much of their new stuff.
