Yes, he may fronted the Pixies but Frank Black has written some great records both with the Catholics and by himself. Any fans out there?

For anyone looking to check out some of his stuff, I would rec starting with "Teenager of the Year" or "Honeycomb" (a more alt/country vibe).

Discuss!

Sweet. (what a sad thread!) Favorite records?

Also, I better see Jacob (chipdip) posting in this thread.

Teenager of the Year and Frank Black - not familiar with his Frank Black and the Catholics material.

Also, I doubt this will be a popular thread (at least for the time being) since a portion of this forum is of the opinion that the Pixies only released two albums, much less solo material post-breakup. :-p

Haha, well that is a bummer. Cmon people! And if you want a rec on Catholics material, try out "Dog in the Sand". If you didnt know, Joey Santiago (love his guitar work with the Pixies) plays lead guitar on most of the Catholics material :-)

I've been getting into his solo stuff recently. His self-titled album is truly amazing.
