Yeah, but it's not just that. The guy gets a bad rep because he's a superstar, but he doesn't want to be a superstar. He's a quiet guy who likes to keep to himself (I can relate), and I'm not sure whether he took steroids or not, but 4 home runs in 4 straight games, while off the roids, is pretty fucking amazing. And he still has the 500 ft home run power of years past, e.g., last night.

I'm an A's fan, but I still cheer for this guy simply because his numbers over the last 5 or so years are staggering, regardless of assumed steroids or not. I think its a shame that people aren't giving this guy enough credit for the accomplishments he's made, MVP after MVP, and I think it's going to be only after he's long gone from playing that he'll get the respect he deserves.

hahaha. and yeah those pictures...take a look at me at 12 and now at 20...im a little bigger and got more weight. not saying that is the case with him. but of course, over time you get bigger (fatter or muscular). the greatest hitter of all-time is just doing what hes known to do. did everyone expect him not to slug like this?

alright. so i guess i was right to think lowly of you guys.
because you're the general stereotypical anti-giants, anti-barry bonds fan.
he supposively accidentally took them, and if you look at pictures throughtout his career, versus start to now.. you'll see there has been a gradual change, and that it didn't just happen during one off season.
he may have taken them, but even so, before he got bigger in size, from 'taking roids' as you'd like to assume, he still was a member of the 400/400 club.
he's a better player at baseball than any of us could ever strive to be, give him credit.
The whole arguement against steriods is that it doesn't create a level playing field. But the thing is, most players in the bigs juice. If bonds has been doing it for a number of years and they have only now almost caught him? And Jose did it for years and was never caught? And plamero? I'm guessing a very large percentage of players juice (80% of pitchers has been rumored). So the playing field has been level... this guy is just that more of a freak. He could shoot up in the batters box for all i care... i'd much rather see him bash it 500 ft into the water then see scrawny guys like Devid Eckstien play...

That's a fine opinion to have as long as you also dislike Mark McGuire and Sammy Sosa for what taking steroids/supplements too, and the whole "accidentally" using a corked bat ordeal.

he hasn't been taking roids for years now...and that is assuming he did in the first place. He admitted to taking a couple that were legal at the time he took them. there is nothing wrong with that, people take Creatine and Protein supplements all the time and no one bitches about that.
