View Full Version : Dark Was The Night
This has been discussed a lot in various threads but not it's own official one (I think).
For me, Beam "steals the show" (words of Vinh) with "Stolen Houses".
Also, Vernon's first track "Brackett, WI" is a great track. It sounds very similar production-wise to "Blood Bank", so I'm assuming it was recorded at the same time.
Otherwise, 8 or so tracks are good, but overall, not that impressed. "Stolen Houses" alone is worth it though.
Bump, you fuckers.
Should have at least gotten a reply from Vinh.

Yeah.
Can always count on you, Vinh, for that intelligent input.

It's pretty bad but worth buying because of the cause.

Hit or miss. I like Antony Hegarty's track a lot.

Shocker.
Only songs worth something are on disc one, as Vinh pointed out.

So Bon Iver, Iron & Wine, and the guys from The National collaborations?

Throw in the Grizzly Bear tracks and Antony's cover. Sufjan's tune is decent too.

Sufjan Stevens seems like he's not doing much right now. Well i'll probably download the first disc tonight when i'm back home.

I don't like Sufjan's cover very much at all. Hopefully he's not going to back to electronic music on his full-lengths...first that leaked Christmas album, now this...

Does anyone know if this can be found at a best buy? I'll probably be hitting one up on Friday.

No idea, sorry. You could call beforehand I suppose.
I prefer Big Red Machine to Brackett, WI. Discuss.
I feel the opposite. The production on Brackett, WI is marvelous. Kills me.

Ah, I dig the slow reveal of Big Red Machine. Brackett is certainly quality too but it's like Blood Bank sharing drinks with Wisconsin.
