Okay, okay; finally!

We are the only friends we have is without a doubt one of the best pop punk/indie/whatever the hell you want to call is cds of all time. There is not a single song on that cd that is less than excellent. If I had to rate piebald's cds in order of greatest to worst, it would go as such:

We Are The Only Friends That We Have
If It Weren't For Venetian Blinds, It'd Be Curtains For Us All
When Life Hands You Lemons
The Rock Revolution Will Not Be Televised
Accidental Gentlemen(despite is incredibly crappy production)
All Ears, All Eyes All The Time(kind of tied with A.G.)

I really regret not getting to see them live before they called it a day. Piebald is just one of those bands that will, unfortunately, go unnoticed by the masses probably forever. You just can't find a song catchier than AMERICAN HEARTS.

I see a lot of people tagging this band as emo on last.fm and generally some talk about Piebald as an emo band. though every song I've heard of them has been in the alternative genre. how far back in their catalogue do I have to travel in order to discover some emo goodyness?

I've never been good at categorizing music, but I would say these:

When Life Hands You Lemons
Select tunes from If It Weren't For Venetian Blinds, It Would Be Curtains For Us All
The song "They Don't Understand Us At The Academy" from the Rock Revolution EP

Emo certainly doesn't mean the same thing now that it did five years ago, so that is my interpretation of what it means now.

i don't think they're really early stuff. vol. 1 is When Life Hands You Lemons and then b-sides, vol. 2 is Venetian Blinds and b-sides and vol. 3 is We Are the Only Friends We Have and b-sides.

I love it! Lo-fi production quality, in a good way... Sorta like Accidental Gentlemen in production sound. In style though, it's very different. Much darker overall. Some big rock riffs. A little 80's and 90's heavy alt rock sounding, haha.

I like it too, probably more so than All Eyes... it's such a happy sounding album. "A Friend Of Mine" and "Don't Tell Me Nothing" are the cat's pajamas.

Accidental Gentlemen is really good, but I think my problem with it is just that the songs fall a little flat. We are the Only Friends We Have is just full of great songs, and All Ears... has either (A) great songs or (B) just not good songs. All of AG's songs just sort of fall in the middle of that, where I don't dislike any of them, but don't love any of them either, really.
