if ure fav band changed their sound, how would you want it

I was thinking about how shocking it mustve been to love radioheads Ok Computer, and then wait for their next cd and have it sound like Kid A. both are great cds, but it mustve been such a shock. My favortite band is Brand New, and itd be so crazy if their next cd was filled with beats and electric blips and tons of voice distortion. If i had to pick though, id like their sound to become either a shoegazy sound, filled with tons of guitar reverb and distortion, with hazy sounding vocals. or, id love them to become more post rock, taking songs like "welcome to bangkok" but longer, and have softer/heavier moments. i would HATE if they made a metal album, or maybe a hip hop cd, i cant even imagine that, itd be so funny/devastating. anyways..whats ure fav band, and if they were gonna change, how would u want it.

Hey, I wasn't criticizing him. I just had absolutely no idea how that train of thought could progress from Brand New to hip hop. I guess "Sic Transit Gloria..." could make sense? Something about it just sound absurd to me.

Kinda like the idea of Joaquin Phoenix releasing a hip hop album... waitasec...

i think the big dirty is their best album. hopefully their album this year will build on that one.

also, mewithoutYou has significant "sound change" between each album. but their newest one that's about to come out will probably be a drastic change. sounds like their going to be kind of like NMH, but better because Aaron Weiss is the best lyricist ever.

greatest hardcore maybe. seriously though. more bands need to take on this sound. ever listen to The Kinison? their full length was produced by the same people who made "The Shape of Punk to Come".

Anyways, I would hope my favorite band would be less electronica sounding and go back to their old ska sound (I'm looking at you Aquabats!). As for my other favorite band, Blink, I hope they sort of build on what they did with Not Now for their next album, otherwise being like Boxcar while still keeping that same Blink feel. Though Tom said it will be sort of like AVA, but still Blink.
