Today, I bring you a band named Dakota/Dakota. A band I discovered from a Dakota/Dakota and Sweater Weather split. Both enjoyable but I suppose the focus for this thread is this once was Chicago trio.
Dakota/Dakota was an instrumental band from Chicago. It featured ex-members of Wolfie (http://www.last.fm/music/Wolfie) & The Like Young (http://www.last.fm/music/The+Like+Young). Guitarist Mike Sullivan and bassist Colin DeKuiper went on to play in the band Russian Circles (http://www.last.fm/music/Russian+Circles).
And theres a background for you readers out there. As expected, I don't think there will be too many responses what with that Jefferee "Am I a boy or girl" Starrrrrrr thread getting some great feedback. Nonetheless, you should check these guys out. Unfortunately I can't find a myspace for them and their Last.fm page doesn't have much or anything you can listen to (but feel free to check, I may be wrong). I'll upload two songs I have of theirs as my collection of the music is minimal (so if anyone has the full album feel free to pm me!).
Now the RIYL part. I suck at these but I'll just throw out American Football, Ghost and Vodka, Pele, and Piglet
http://www.mediafire.com/?ontdvj5nott "I Hope to God I'm not a Sheep"
http://www.mediafire.com/?oylmyidzgyz "Bruises are Buttons for Pain"
I will be bumping this most likely until I ge responses (periodically of course). I'll also make it an official thread to give it that nitch and since I couldn't find any other threads about them.
