arent these acoustic ep's just an easy way to get out music without actually putting much effort into it and just another way to eat up releases on a contract?

Yeah, they were about the only band without one coming out, already out, or otherwise in the works!!!
from what ive read at adayatthefair.com, they arent even releasing it on Rushmore, they want to release it on an indie label, so eating up releases isnt really the case.
But i do wonder if it will have some new versions of the songs off of "no lights on weldon" that cd was fucking AWESOME and almost all acoustic.
Also in Ex-Lanemeyer news... has any one heard Arcade Academy (www.myspace.com/arcadeacademy (http://www.myspace.com/arcadeacademy)) Its Doyle (bassist / some vocals) from Lanemeyer... I fucking LOVE these songs, and cant wait for the Lanemeyer Reunion shows...

I thought exactly the same when I first laid ears on them..
but if you listened to Rockingchair Years you would most definetly think differently. The album just totally blows one away.

that's what i said too. when they signed them, i was like ehhh this band is fine, but they're generic. i happened to buy the rocking chair years because it was $7 and i had some extra money...fell completely in love with it. i still can't tell anyone WHY this band is special, i just can't identify it, it's just SOMETHING. and monday morning is such a gorgeous song.

honestly, they're mad good. to add to that, the studio they'll probably record at is amazing. chris barker is the manager for norhtshore recording owned by ryan sellick and sellick is a genious. mark my words...within two years this guy will own badami and naclerio

This band is awesome. Their live show is hilarious and they are some of the nicest guys in the world. My band has played with them twice when they've come to Houston and both times they have been the coolest guys ever.
