Welcome to Autumn, that fateful season, when hearts will bond and break. When leaves will crunch beneath your feet as the wind begins to rose your cheeks. Haha, good luck to everyone in the coming season, and may your love flourish while the leaves perish. (Woah... sorry... emo alert)
Matt Pond PA (http://www.mattpondpa.com/mppa.html) - In terms of Fall, this is by all means the band to guide you through. New album Several Arrows Later is due out October 11th. I know I'll be picking it up. Stellar band, for fans of Iron and Wine or other good indie. I was certainly thrilled when their cover of Neutral Milk Hotel's "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea," was played on the latest episode of The OC. Reaffirms my love for that show, and for this band. HIGHLY anticipating the new record. (And The OC is just crazy this season, I can't even believe the intensity. Bravo Josh Schwartz).
Neutral Milk Hotel (http://neutralmilkhotel.net/) - Who am I kidding? There's just no way I could mention NMH without recommending them. I don't know anyone who's heard this band and doesn't like them. If you like The Decemberists or any indie rock for that matter, then your favorite artists were probably influenced by these guys. So good... truly special band. Lasting impact and intelligent, moving music. R.I.P.
HORSE the band (http://www.myspace.com/horsetheband) - Had trouble getting into them at first, but I'm ripped up by their new album. Just nuts dude... out of control. Nintendocore? Whatever works hahaha.
I'm going to be honest, I really haven't listened to much other than Coheed (http://www.coheedandcambria.com) recently. Now that they have a 3 album catalogue, I'm just swimming through all their music, and loving every stroke (...you pervert). No other band gives me the same thrill. The Good Apollo graphic novel is pretty wild too, Claudio is either a genius or clinically insane. That remains to be seen.
