There aren't a ton of songs I know every single word to.

Me & My Arrow
02/17/09, 06:19 PM
"Cute Without the 'E' (Cut from the Team)" by Taking Back Sunday.

I'm pretty sure everyone loved or was forced to hear that song a billion times when they were younger (if they were in anyway involved in the "scene"). Plus, I'm pretty sure it was the main reason a lot of people even heard or got into "emo" music in the first place.

Perhaps the five years in between are the reason? I was pretty young when I first heard and became obsessed with it, so you might not even have had a venue for hearing it at that point (age 9?). I know I didn't hear anything close to that sort of music at that age.

you're right, it's very unlikely but it is 200K people who have musical tastes much narrower than if we took a sample of 200K 15-25 year-olds in the US.

I honestly don't know all the words to that. It's like "dadada dadada dadada dadada dadada dadada dadada against you. (even louder) dadada dadada dadada dadada dadada dadada WELL I GUESS THIS IS GROWING UP!"

Well elite indie people know For Emma, Forever Ago by heart.

The whiney pop-punkites know Take This To Your Grave by heart.

The scene queens know So Wrong, It's Right by heart.

Anybody who listens to harder rock has Jane Doe memorized.

Kids stuck in the past know Take Off Your Pants and Jacket by heart.

Those who enjoy bumping beats have got It Takes A Nation of A Million To Hold Us Back down line for line.

Craig has all of Tim Finn's albums memorized.

Everyone else has Ok Computer memorized.

So punx got The Greatest Story Ever Told down.

I think that covers just about everyone on AP.net.

Well there isn't a whole lot of ska/reggae/world/funk representation on this board, and you represent it. I figured you would sum up just about everyone who does listen to those genres in one name haha.

Well, that would explain it. 8 years ago the song was much more significant, as it played a large part in helping the underground scene, and bands like Thursday and Taking Back Sunday, gain a larger audience.
