I understand it can work but there are girls who are just social whores. My girlfriend would call it "just joking" but the things she would say to other guys did go a little far and did hurt me. She went on saying "So am I not supposed to have any guy friends". I told her "No, just don't go flirting with all of them behind my back". She eventually admited what she was doing was a little too much and realized if I did the same, she would be upset to.
