Where should I start? [Archive]

These are all bands that I don't listen to but am interested in. I've recently decided to expand. I'll start with whichever band gets the most votes.

If you think I should start with a particular album, or if you have any other recommendations, post that in the replies.

Gaslight Anthem, Midtown, or Say Anything if you're into Pop-Punk.

I voted for Say Anything. You have to listen to "Is...A Real Boy" and "Was...A Real Boy". Also check out Death Cab for Cutie's "Plans", it's their best record IMO.

I started out with Sugarcult and Taking Back Sunday in middle school when I didn't know any better, and only towards tenth grade did I start branching out into post-hardcore, indie, etc. I'm a senior in high school.

If you're looking for accessable rock that you can jump right into, try The '59 Sound. But if you want to wrap your head around some complex arrangements and just be wowed by really good music, Kid A is the way to go.

I'm one of the minority that doesn't like Radiohead. It's just not for me. I put Midtown, since they're, well, fucking awesome. Death Cab and Say Anything are really great too.
