Click here to see an interesting article, 101 "Things You Don't Know About Rock N' Roll" (http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/columns/general_music/101_things_you_didnt_know_about_roc k_n_roll.html). Below are some of the more interesting pieces of the article:

01. When "Stairway To Heaven" is played backwards, you can hear the phrase "Oh here's to my sweet satan..the one who's little path would make me sad, whose power is satan..he'll give you give you 666 there was a little toolshed where he would make us suffer, sad in the part of "if there's a bustle." (Check out the audio, and read along (http://jeffmilner.com/backmasking.htm))

Note: That is REALLY creepy

08. "Layla" was written by Eric Clapton to steal George Harrison's wife, Patty Boid. Layla was the nickname Eric had given her inspired by a turkish legend (not so sure about that) in which Layla was the main character.

creepy indeed.
77. Waylon Jennings was Buddy Holly's bass player. Once, they were deciding how they were going to travel, he lost a coin toss, and took the bus instead of the plane. According to Jennings before his death, Buddy Holly said something to the extent of "I hope you freeze on the bus," and Jennings replied, "I hope your plane crashes." Guess what happened......that's right you guessed.
AHHH, i got chills.

here's one that wasn't on there:

102. two weeks after jimi hendrix's death, he was supposed to record an album with miles davis, which very well could've taken rock music in a completely different direction than where it ended up.

"This is why MTV is crap: MTV execs came up with the idea of the "Unplugged" series after seeing Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull do a brief, live acoustic set. But when Anderson later asked about having Jethro Tull appear on "Unplugged," MTV turned him down flat, oin the grounds that the band was too old and didn't have enough appeal among the desired teen demographic"

jethro tull unplugged would have been the coolest performance ever. flutes on mtv.

i seriously doubt the artists were trying to include messages, i think some people with too much time on their hands played some songs backwards and used their imaginations.

I think that if you read the lyrics to stairway as youre listening its VERY clear but when I wasnt reading and listening it sounded like gibberish to me

Regardless, even though it doesnt sound intentional (as opposed to some of the other obvious ones) the message goes on for a long time and the message is pretty articulate......
thats what so mysterious about the stairway one....

not to mention what that dude above me said

intriguing
isnt it?
*raises eyebrow*

19. "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was the name (or slogan..not so sure) of a deodorant brand.

Gotta love "Things you didn't know" that are well known, and oddly enough, apparently not known by the authors.

yeah, but the author of the article was 16. those of us that are old enough to remember when that song came out don't think much of that, but i bet it's cool trivia to kids today.

There's a Backstreet Boys song when played backwards says "I eat new pussy everyday" or something like that...I remember hearing it on some site a few years ago...

I can't find a working link to any place that has the MP3...but it's out there. And it's real.

The one about The Police - Ghost In The Machine cover is wrong. It is known which 'symbol' is meant to represent each band member.

Pink Floyd's Empty Spaces backwards was probably the weirdest. It actually sounds like something that wasn't BS or a coincidence. Anyone else agree?
