View Full Version : This woman wants an eye for an eye, literally.
The video along with this article is somewhat graphic, showing the horrifying results of a common criminal act in the Middle East: throwing acid in the face of women and young girls attending school.

It's hard to believe that this is considered "common" anywhere, this is such a shameful and disgusting act of hate. This woman believes her attacker should suffer the same fate as her, the loss of his eyes. Is this justice?

It's more common in Asia, though Iran is sort of in between.
And he is going to lose his eyes, its already been decided I believe.
And I'll be trite and ironic and go with Ghandi in this instance.

"An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind"?
Although i'm sure he does deserve to lose his eyes for taking hers, I think spreading more violence is the wrong approach...I just don't understand what these people would listen to. What is it going to take to crack down on this issue? Blah blah "there will always be bad people in the world" blah, I get it, but there definitely needs to be more done by the government and religious leaders to prevent this sort of thing from going on...(I'm not a fan of any kind of religious influence...period...but it seems like that is the only thing these people take seriously, since we are dealing with extremist behavior here).

Ummm, I don't think this was a case of religious extremism. Just a desperate jackass with no respect or humanity.

You already made one thread on this topic. (http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=674342&highlight=acid+attack)
"An eye for an eye" really is a barbaric sentence, but I would not mind seeing it happen in this case. For sadistic reasons, however--not because I think it will prevent future attacks like this. Haha.

I don't think this will really prevent anything, but if the victem already believes it will help her sleep at night, there's nothing much you can do about it. Expecially considering that the sentance was already decreed.
People just need a hobby or two that doesn't involve acid.
