Yes you can. There's some programs you can get that will do it for you, although I can't remember many of them right now. :/

I am not positive but I think there is something called ipod agent you can download and you can transfer songs from your ipod back to your computer.

iTunes did that to me at one point as well.

I am not positive but I think there is something called ipod agent you can download and you can transfer songs from your ipod back to your computer.
That's the one.

Haha, but come on, arguing is fun! I use winamp 5.0 personally, I haven't found a better mp3 player...I use VLC player for video, it has all the codecs preloaded so it plays all formats. It's simple, clean, etc. I don't use Firefox because I like Maxthon better mouse gestures, tabbing, etc, and Firefox actually has more security holes in it than IE based browsers do anyways...common misconception.

My roomate uses winamp to manage his ipod. He had cursed itunes many a night, but he seems satisfied with Winamp's plugin.

I love the Winamp. Unfortunately Winamp's Nomad plugin isn't worth a damn but Nomad uses pretty much straightup Windows Explorer to transfer files anyway.

I know, I've tried the extensions. I still couldn't get them to work like I wanted them to, and Firefox still has trouble loading certain websites. I also don't like how it downloads stuff. Maxthon's extensions are all built in, plus it has some cool stuff, like an undo button, so if you accidentily close a tab, you can reopen it to the same spot.

I like Gaim, but it's pretty buggy. It doesn't support file transfers at all (it's supposed to, but never works) so I can't use it. Sometimes I use Trillian, but I find it somewhat obnoxious and ugly, so most of the time I just use DeadAIM. The only thing I don't like about DeadAIM is the lack of messaging while away. It has everything else I want, alias names for your buddies, the best tabbed windows out of any of them, great file transfer support...It's built off of normal aim, so it is totally compatible with everything else.

I use Bit Tornado on the rare occasions I download from bittorrent...It has a lot of options and it's easy to use. Works well enough for me.

I have EAC with lame, but it takes so freaking long to rip a CD that I normally just say fuck it and use Windows Media Player. It rips super fast, and I've got no complaints about the quality...and I'm an audiophile too, I honestly hear zero difference between EAC's VBR and WMP's 192kps rips.

Word to Winamp 5.0. I personally hate using a media library, I like to browse my mp3s in files and folders and play the .m3u for a full album (iTunes can't open .m3u files, so frustrating). If people wanted to though, they could use winamp's media library just like iTunes...there's even skins that make it look like iTunes, except it plays all file formats, doesn't take over your library, and takes half the resources :)

Ah, that kills me. iTunes has some really stupid default settings, like synchronizing your library with your iPod, so that if you delete something from your iPod, it deletes it from your computer, or visa versa, or whatever. So many sad stories...
