So who here it would be worthwhille if i were to play semi-pro football?

I am a prospect right now and might be getting onto a team but im not 100% sure yet as im not sure about what will happen since im in the Army right now and go to basic training this summer

I might not be able to get onto the team until 2012 when im out, but imagine me playing semi-pro football?! That would be amazing!

I'm just not sure if its such a good idea to play semi-pro because i've heard you dont get paid for it and you must have your own equipment to play in games and shit as they dont provide it

Any advice on whether i should pursue this or not? I mean it is a dream of mine to play pro football one day if singing doesnt work out

Thanks i appreciate that!

Im hoping it all works out in the end for me. I'm also hoping that once i get jacked in the army that will help me break into the sport easier

Im also going to be much more conditioned than i am now, and will obviously be able to run faster meaning more teams might see me as a better prospect to recruit.

I'm honestly not too worried about getting paid, as i would only be playing for the love of the sport and shit.

Cause i dont have money for tuition.. Plus im already in the army. I have signed the contract and am in for 4 years. Doesnt the army have a football team or any type of sports teams?

And i'll have more opportunity once im out of the army to play semi-pro because ill get good conditioning and they'll see i have army experience and think im a tank and want me.

I wasnt 100% sure if i wanted to play college ball, but once i thought about it i kind of wanted to, but i guess i could after im out of the army?

Yeah, the Army has a football team, but you have to be enrolled at the United States Military Academy in order to play. It's a university.

I guess you could play after your tour of service, but you'd probably have to walk on somewhere.

Well im confident i have the skills to compete with the best of the best in college. Do many walk ons get a shot at ACTUALLY playing on the field if they make it on the team?

Because if not ill just jump directly into going to tryouts for semi-professional teams

Uh, I mean I'm not a scout or recruiter or anything, but generally walkons don't see the field. If you make an impression the coaches, you can definitely see the field and receive scholarships.

Lol well i guess ill try to talk to some college scouts while im in the army and tell them of my experience and get some like demo videos or something of me catching different passes and running the ball to show my quickness and stuff

Scouts like to see those especially for the semi-pro teams.

How exactly might i go about doing that? I've heard great things about the EFL(European Football League) and the NFL European Division they have over there, but i would have no clue how to go about even trying to get a tryout for a team over there

its awesome you have the skill to do this, and that you desire to play in the pros... but it seems not worth it. you would have a better chance getting a try out with an nfl team then getting noticed on a semi pro team.

Let's just put it this way. If you are "top of the top" in highschool you would've gotten recruited with a full ride to a big D1 school and wouldn't need to worry about tuition. Since this is not the case, you have no chance of playing NFL.

I never said i was TOP OF THE TOP mars. I said i was pretty damn good, meaning i do have skills. And what happens if i chose not to go to college because i wanted to serve our country? It will open up more doors for me than just college would. Because now i have the chance to play for the army football team and also gain job experience in the army, and also get FULL TUITION assistance to any college i want as long as its not too expensive. So i can still play football.

I just chose to serve our country because its something i felt is right for me at the moment. But i still have plenty of time left to play football.

And yes i have had semi-pro scouts from maine and new hampshire tell me i have what it takes if i apply myself more and keep working out and playing on my own time with teams here or there

So yeah i have had scouts from semi-pros tell me i have what it takes and right now i also have some one from the Indoor Football League tell me i have what it takes to play for them. Af2 is the famr league for the AFL and i have someone on a team there who said he could get the coah to check me out

So i do know what im talking about haha

I guess thats true. Maybe i'm not good enough for the NFL. But if i do indoor football or semi-pros they're not AS competitive as the NFL obviously. Or if i join the Af2 the famr league for AFL i could get in there since the AFL isnt as hard to get into as the NFL. I just want to play football again.

They pay their other players with better positions betwen 300 to 600 a game. Depends on if you win or lose. Thats still good money for an amateur indoor football league.

That's what i've heard about the semi-pros, but im not 100% sure on the factuality of that.

but for the indoor leagues if you get accepted onto the team the equipment comes with team dues and stuff you have to pay. Which would be worthmy money if it meant me doing what i love =]
