so my ex-girlfriend wants to be friends

we were together for 2 1/2 years but broke up over a year ago. then we were off-and-on until about 2 months ago when i cut all ties with her. then out of the blue, she called my parents' house phone while i was there and we started talking again.. reluctantly at first until breaking out into an all out shouting match a few days ago. now she's saying she wants to be friends.

what should i do about this? i'm not sure if i want to be friends. my other option is to shut her out again, but we still have feelings for each other, so that doesnt sound like it would work, one of us would inevitably end up contacting the other, so it would just end up coming full circle again. so god damned confused right now.

Ugh. I'm going thru the EXACT same thing right now. We decided not to go back out and she said she just wants to chill for awhile. But she still tells me things like "i love you". From what I read on here, it's a bad idea to keep this going on but I just have no idea how to avoid her.
